„Сей день Господень, радуйтеся людiе“! Поздравляемъ всѣхъ васъ, дорогiе посѣтители нашей приходской страницы, съ великимъ праздникомъ Рождества Пресвятой Богородицы и Приснодѣвы Марiи. Сей праздникъ является первымъ двунадесятымъ праздникомъ церковнаго года, и Святая Церковь сегодня призываетъ всѣхъ насъ на пиръ духовный, ибо „Iоакимъ и Анна торжествуютъ, начатокъ рождше нашего спасенiя, едину Богородицу. Съ нимиже и мы празднуемъ днесь отъ корене онаго Iессеева, блажаще Дѣву чистую“. Объ этомъ праздникѣ также пишетъ нашъ приснопамятный авва архiеп. Никонъ (Рклицкiй): „Этотъ праздникъ - утренняя заря, предшествующая восходу солнца и возвѣщающая радость всей вселенной черезъ ту радость, которую пережили Ея родители св. Iоакимъ и Анна, ибо родилась отроковица, изъ которой возсiяетъ Cолнце правды Христосъ Богъ“.

Въ этотъ радостный праздникъ прихожане и богомольцы собрались въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ на Всенощное бдѣнiе и Божественную литургiю. Богослуженiя отслужили iерей Iона и дiак. Леонидъ, при чудномъ пѣнiи смѣшаннаго хора на Всенощной и мужского хора на Литургiи. Во время Литургiи богомольцы ощутили особый празднечный духъ при монастырьскомъ пѣнiи и замѣчательной солнечной погодѣ. За это мы благодарны Господу Богу и Его пречистой матери, родившейся сегодня чтобы даровать намъ жизнь вѣчную черезъ своего Сына.

"This is the day of the Lord! Rejoice, O ye people!" We greet you all, dear readers of our parish website, with the great feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary. This feast is the first of the church year, and the Holy Church today calls upon all the faithful to partake in the spiritual banquet, for "Joachim and Anna keep festival, having brought into the world the only Theotokos, first fruit of our salvation. With them we celebrate the feast today, blessing the pure Virgin from the root of Jesse." Our memorable abba, Archbishop Nikon (Rklitsky), says this of the feast day: "This feast is the daybreak, forerunning the sunrise and announcing joy to all the world through the joy felt by Her parents, Sts. Joachim and Anna, for a child is born, through whom the Sun of Righteousness, Christ God, will shine forth."

On this joyous holiday, parishioners and others gathered in St. George's Church for the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy. The divine services were led by Priest Jonah and Deacon Leonid, under the wondrous chanting of the mixed choir during the Vigil, and the male choir during the Liturgy. During the Liturgy, the faithful sensed a special, festive spirit, through the monastic singing and lovely sunny weather. For this we thank the Lord God and His Most Pure Mother, born today to grant unto us eternal life through Her Son.

All-Night Vigil Divine Liturgy

Въ воскресенье 13 сентября, въ праздникъ Положенiя честнаго пояса Пресвятой Богородицы, викарiй Черновицкой и Буковинской епархiи, Преосвященнѣйшiй епископъ Хотинскiй Мелетiй, возглавилъ Божественную литургiю въ Краснобреговѣ, въ храмѣ святителя Николая Чудотворца. Владыкѣ сослужили iерей Iона, iеродиаконъ Никита, и дiак. Леонидъ, при большомъ стеченiи богомольцевъ. Владыка произнесъ замѣчательную проповѣдь о евангельскомъ чтенiи и о важности жить христiанской жизнью, чтобы быть достойнымъ званiя „избраннаго“. Въ концѣ Лиутргiи о. Iона привѣтствовалъ Владыку и отмѣтилъ особую духовную и братскую связь между нашимъ приходомъ и Черновицкой и Буковинской епархiи во главѣ съ ея правящимъ архiереемъ, митрополитомъ Онуфрiемъ. Отъ имени о. настоятеля, о. Iона преподнесъ Владыкѣ икону свят. Iоанна Шанхайскаго и масло изъ лампады у раки мощей святю Iоанна. Владыка выразилъ благодарность митр. Иларiону, о. Сергiю и всѣму приходу за теплую встрѣчу и возможность совершить Святое Евхаристiе въ нашемъ храмѣ. Онъ особенно привѣтствовалъ своихъ соотечественниковъ на украйнскомъ языкѣ и въ частности сказалъ какъ радостно видѣтъ что они нашли себѣ духовную и братскую семью въ предѣлахъ Америки. На глазахъ прихожанъ были радостныя слезы, видя своего родного архипастыря совершая Литургiю въ нашемъ приходѣ.

Послѣ Литургiи состоялась трапеза въ приходскомъ залѣ, за которой богомольцы общались съ владыкой и другъ со другомъ. Вечеромъ владыка провелъ теплую духовную бесѣду и ужинъ съ клиромъ и прихожанами. Нажмите здѣсь для фотографiй.

On Sunday, September 13, on the feast of the Placing of the Cincture of the Mother of God, the vicar bishop of the Chernovtsy Diocese (Ukranian Orthodox Church), His Grace, Bishop Meletiy of Khotin, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Red Bank, in the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. His Grace was co-served by Priest Jonah Campbell (assistant to the rector), Hierodeacon Nikita (Vladika's cell attendant), and Deacon Leonid Roschko, in the presence of many worshipers. Vladyka delivered an excellent sermon on the topic of the Gospel reading, in which he explained the importance of living a Christian life so that we may be worthy of being called one of the "chosen." At the end of the Liturgy, Fr. Jonah greeted Bishop Meletiy and outlined the unique brotherly and spiritual ties between the parish of St. Nicholas and the Chernovtsy Diocese along with her ruling hierarch, Metropolitan Onufry. On behalf of the rector, Fr. Jonah presented Vladyka with an icon of St. John of Shanghai, along with two bottles of oil from his tomb. Vladyka expressed his gratitude to Metropolitan Hilarion, rector Archpriest Serge Lukianov, and all the parishioners for their warm reception and the opportunity to perform the Holy Eucharist in St. Nicholas Church. He expressed a special greeting in Ukrainian to his fellow countrymen, who have found a new spiritual family in America. Tears were seen on the eyes of parishioners, who were overjoyed to see their beloved hierarch serve the Divine Liturgy in their parish.

After the Liturgy, a festive luncheon was held in honor of Vladyka in the parish hall, where parishioners had an opportunity to socialize with one another and speak to the hierarch. Сегодня прибыла делегацiя Русской Зарубежной Церкви въ первопрестольный градъ Москву съ чудотворной Курской иконой Божiей Матери. Прессъ-служба Московской Патрiархiи опубликовала слова нашего Первоiерарха въ тотъ моментъ, когда икону вернулась на Русскую землю. Митрополитъ Иларiонъ отмѣтилъ: „Въ Россiю доставлена одна изъ главныхъ святынь Русской Православной Церкви — Курская Коренная икона Божiей Матери «Знаменiе». Эта икона имѣетъ огромное значенiе въ жизни каждаго православнаго человѣка. Она хранитъ насъ передъ лицомъ Господа и открываетъ ищущей душѣ дорогу къ свѣту. Я призываю всѣхъ вѣрующихъ прiйти въ храмъ поклониться великой святынѣ“. Въ свою очередь, митрополитъ Ювеналiй сказалъ: „Возвращенiе иконы въ Россiю — великое историческое событiе, которое свидѣтельствуетъ о томъ, что Россiя вновь обрѣтаетъ образъ Святой Руси. Это должно способствовать объединенiю всѣхъ вѣрующихъ людей“.

Представьте себѣ, дорогiе прихожане, какая радость сегодня на небѣ, когда наши покойные Зарубежные Святители митр. Филаретъ, митр. Лавръ, архiеп. Никонъ, архiеп. Today the ROCOR delegation arrived in the Patriarchal See of Moscow, accompanying the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. The Media Office of the Moscow Patriarchate published the words of our First Hierarch at the very moment the icon returned to Russian soil. Metropolitan Hilarion noted, "One of the great sacred objects of the Russian Orthodox Church has returned to Russia - the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign." This icon has great meaning for the life of every Orthodox person. She shelters us before the fair of the Lord, and opens for every searching soul the path to the light. I call upon all of the faithful to come to church to venerate this great holy icon." On behalf of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Yuvenaliy said, "The return of the icon to Russia is a great historical event, which bears witness to the fact that Russia is once again taking on the image of Holy Russia. This should facilitate the unification of all of the faithful."

Imagine, dear parishioners, what joy there must be today in Heaven, when our departed Diasporan Hierarchs Metropolitan Philaret, Metropolitan Laurus, Archbishop Nikon, Archbishop Vitaly and many other see the great holy icon of the Russian Diaspora return to our Great Russia. Въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ прошла особая недѣля, вдохновенная благодатью и Божiей милостью. Въ среду 9 сентября, до начала вечерни и утрени преп. Iову Почаевскому въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ, прибылъ нашъ викарiй, Преосвященнѣйшiй епископъ Георгiй. Владыка прiѣхалъ въ сопровожденiи iерея Iлiи Марзева (клирикъ св. Сергiевскаго каѳедральнаго собора въ Кливлендѣ) и своего келейника Закхея, изъ Свято-Троицкаго монастыря въ Ховеллъ по епархiальнымъ дѣламъ, и присутствовалъ на всѣхъ богослуженiяхъ. Въ праздникъ преп. Iова служилъ iерей Iона, а владыка порадовалъ хористовъ своимъ участiемъ въ мужскомъ хорѣ.

Въ праздникъ Усѣкновенiя главы св. Iоанна Крестителя, владыка возглавилъ богослуженiя, въ сослуженiи приходского духовенства, iерея Iлiи и также дiак. Андрея Псарева (клирикъ св. Троицкаго монастыря). Всенощную пѣли антифонно мужской и смѣшанный хоры подъ управленiемъ о. Сергiя и чт. Нектарiя. Въ концѣ Литургiи была отслужена заупокойная литiя, за которой поминали всѣхъ воиновъ на полѣ брани животъ свой положившихъ, и всѣхъ православныхъ христiанъ убiенныхъ въ терактѣ 11 сентября 2001 г. в Нью-Iоркѣ.

Послѣ литiи о. Сергiй привѣтствовалъ Владыку и поблагодарилъ его за молитвенное участiе на богослуженiяхъ въ нашемъ храмѣ. Послѣ Литургiи владыка, въ сопровожденiи о. Сергiя и о. Iлiи, отбылъ въ Нью-Iоркъ и присоединился къ другимъ делегатамъ РПЦЗ, которые сопровождаютъ Курскую икону Божiей Матери въ Россiю. Нажмите здѣсь для просмотра фотографiй.

It has been a special week at St. George's Church, filled with God's grace and mercy. On Wednesday, September 9, before the beginning of the vespers and matins on the feast of St. Job of Pochaev, our vicar, Bishop George, arrived in Howell. His Grace was accompanied by Priest Ilia Marzev (cleric of St. Sergius Cathedral in Cleveland, OH) and his helper Zacchaeus, and arrived in Howell from Holy Trinity Monastery on diocesan business, taking the time to attend all of the divine services. On the feast of St. Job, Fr. Jonah served, while Vladyka brought joy to the choristers by taking part in the male choir.

On the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, His Grace led the divine services, co-served by our parish clergy, as well as Priest Ilia and Deacon Andrei Psarev (cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery). The Vigil was sung antiphonally by the male and mixed choirs, under the direction of Fr. Serge and Reader Nektary. At the end of the Liturgy, a litiy for the departed was served, at which were commemorated all those warriors who laid down their lives for the Faith, the Tsar, and the Fatherland, as well as all those Orthodox Christians killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11.

After the litiy, Fr. Serge greeted Vladyka, thanking him for his prayerful participation at the divine services in our church. after the Liturgy Vladyka, accompanied by Fr. Serge and Fr. Ilia, left for New York to join the remaining ROCOR delegates, who will be traveling to Russia with the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. Click here for photos.

5 и 6 сентября состоялся „малый“ престольный праздникъ Свято-Троицкаго монастыря, нижній храмъ котораго посвященъ преп. Іову Почаевскому, день котораго широко празднуется въ монастырѣ, по традиціи, въ воскресенье до американскаго Дня труда. Согласно традиціи нашего прихода, прихожане во главѣ съ настоятелемъ и клиромъ совершили ежегодное паломничество въ Свято-Троицкій монастырь, чтобы принять участіе въ этомъ праздникѣ.

Богослуженія возглавилъ епископъ Мэйфильдскій Георгій, въ сослуженіи множества епархіальнаго и монастырскаго духовенства, включая настоятеля, о. Леонида и о. Iону. Праздникъ начался въ субботу въ 15:00 ч., когда духовенство и паломники собрались у Свято-Троицкаго собора. Оттуда отправились крестнымъ ходомъ къ монастырскому кладбищенскому храму для встрѣчи Почаевской Божіей Матери. Затѣмъ, при возвращеніи въ Свято-Троицкій соборъ, передъ иконами Божіей Матери и преподобнаго Іова Почаевскаго было совершенно всенародное пѣніе акаѳиста великому угоднику Божію. Въ 19:00 ч., послѣ духовно и тѣлесно насыщающаго ужина въ монастырской трапезной, было отслужено Всенощное бдѣніе, украшено великолѣпнымъ пѣніемъ монастырскаго хора.

Въ воскресенье 6 сентября, въ 9:00 ч. состоялась встрѣча епископа Георгія подъ сладкозвучнымъ звономъ монастырскихъ колоколовъ. Божественная литургія прошла въ молитвенномъ духѣ, вызывая у всѣхъ вѣрующихъ глубокія чувства радости и покаянія. Изъ-за большого стеченія паломниковъ, народъ причащался изъ двухъ чашъ. Въ своей проповѣди, Владыка Георгій говорилъ о жизни преп. Іова и о его трудахъ, особенно печатаніе книгъ. Владыка напомнилъ всѣмъ, что столь важную отрасль жизни Свято-Троицкаго монастыря представляетъ собой изданіе типографіей преп. Іова (праздникъ котораго и являлся) духовныхъ матеріаловъ на пользу вѣрующимъ. Владыка тѣмже умолялъ всѣхъ заниматься духовнымъ чтеніемъ, безъ котораго спасеніе становиться на много труднѣе. Церковь, объяснилъ архипастырь, по словамъ приснопамятнаго архіепископа Никона является великой Учительницей, которая „научаетъ своихъ чадъ, какъ должно жить и какъ должно умирать“. По окончаніи Литургіи былъ проведенъ вокругъ собора крестный ходъ.

Послѣ Литургіи была представдена всѣмъ паломникамъ обильная трапеза, послѣ которой всѣ смогли гулять по монастырю, посѣщать книжный магазинъ или сидѣть въ тѣни деревьевъ до 16:00 ч., когда на монастырскомъ кладбищѣ состоялось освященіе новаго памятника Епископа Митрофана (Зноско-Боровскаго), скончавшагося въ 2002 г.

Ночью, въ лѣсу на монастырскомъ участкѣ былъ проведенъ костеръ для нашихъ прихожанъ, гдѣ пѣлись русскія пѣсни и готовились шашлыки. Въ понедѣльникъ утромъ, послѣ полунощницы и утрени, паломники собрались и, прощаясь со святыней русского Зарубежья, отправились домой. Нажмите здѣсь для просмотра фотографій паломничества.

September 5 and 6 marked the “little” feast day of Holy Trinity Monastery, whose lower church is named in honor of St. Job of Pochaev, whose memory is traditionally greatly celebrated at the monastery on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. In accordance with parish tradition, parishioners, led by the rector and clergy, undertook a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery to take part in the feast.

The divine services were led by Bishop George of Mayfield, co-served by a multitude of diocesan and monastery clergy, including our rector, Fr. Leonid, and Fr. Jonah. The feast began on Saturday at 3:00 PM, when the clergy and pilgrims gathered at Holy Trinity Cathedral. From there, all departed with a crucession to the monastery's cemetery church to greet the Icon of the Pochaev Mother of God. Following this, and upon returning Holy Trinity Cathedral, an akathist to St. Job was sung by the people, before an icon of the Mother of God and the great God-pleaser. At 7:00 PM, after a spiritually and physically satisfying dinner in the monastery refectory, the All-Night Vigil was served, greatly beautified by the singing of the monastery choir.

On Sunday, September 6, the greeting of Bishop George took place at 9:00 AM, to the mellifluous ringing of monastery bells. The Divine Liturgy proceeded in a prayerful spirit, summoning in the faithful deep feelings of joy and repentance. Due to the high quantity of pilgrims, the people communed from two chalices. In his sermon, Bishop George spoke on the life of St. Job and his works, especially the printing of books. Vladyka reminded everyone, that a very important aspect of life at Holy Trinity Monastery is found in the publishing of spiritual materials by the Publishing House of St. Job (whose feast day it was) for the good of the faithful. Vladyka herein urged the faithful to engage in spiritual reading, without which salvation becomes much more difficult. The archpastor explained that the Church, in the words of the ever-memorable Archbishop Nikon, is a great Teacher, which “teaches Her children how to live and how to die.” At the end of the Liturgy, a crucession proceeded around the cathedral.

After the Liturgy, a bountiful luncheon was offered to all the pilgrims, after which all were allowed to walk around the monastery, visit the bookstore, or just sit in the shade of the trees until 4:00 PM, when a new tombstone was blessed in the monastery cemetery for Bishop Mitrofan (Znosko-Borovsky), who reposed in 2002.

At night, in the woods of the monastery, a campfire was held for our parishioners, where Russian songs were sung and shish-ka-bob was prepared.
