Въ воскресенье 25 октября послѣ Литургіи, членлы св. Николаевскаго Фонда устроили осенній танецъ для прихожанъ и друзей нашего прихода. Танецъ былъ устроенъ въ залѣ Католическаго прихода Рождества Христова въ Ферхейвенѣ. Во время обѣда приходскіе дѣтки и молодежь устроили выступленіе русскихъ танцевъ на радость всѣмъ присутствующимъ. Спасибо большое всѣмъ членамъ фонда и гостей за прекрасный вечерь.

On Sunday, October 25, after the Liturgy members of St. Nicholas Foundation held an autumn dance for parishioners and friends of our parish. The dance was held in the hall of Nativity Catholic Church in Fair Haven. During the luncheon, parish children regaled all present with a series of Russian dances. We are greatly thankful to all the members of the Fund and all the guests for a wonderful evening.

Въ праздникъ Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы, кубанскiе казаки отмѣчаютъ день своего возрожденiя. Въ большомъ залѣ Кубанскаго казачьяго хора въ Екатеринодарѣ состоялось торжественное собранiе по случаю 19-лѣтiя возрожденiя Кубанскаго казачьяго войска, въ которомъ приняли участiе администраторъ екатеринодарскаго края Александръ Николаевичъ Ткачевъ, предсѣдатель ЗСК Владимiръ Андреевичъ Бекетовъ, атаманъ ККВ Николай Александровичъ Долуда, Высокопреосвященнѣйшiй митрополитъ Екатеринодарскiй и Кубанскiй Исидоръ, члены казачьихъ обществъ, а также делегацiя казаковъ изъ США во главѣ съ атаманомъ Александромъ Михайловичемъ Певневымъ, прибывшая наканунѣ большого празднества. Также принимал участие в торжествах наш староста Св. Георгiевскаго храма гос. Iоаннъ Римакисъ.

Свой главный подарокъ виновники торжества получили за нѣсколько дней до офицiальнаго празднованiя. Въ Екатеринодаръ прибыла вторая партiя регалiй, вывезенныхъ за рубежъ почти девяносто лѣтъ назадъ. Регалiи хранились много лѣтъ въ США въ Музеѣ кубанскаго казачьяго войска за рубежомъ въ городѣ Ховеллъ, шт. Нью-Джерси. Въ этомъ маленкомъ Американскомъ селѣ, Кубанскiе казаки построили казачiй центръ съ музеемъ, и также уникальный храмъ св. великомученика Георгiя Побѣдоносца. 17 iюля с.г. на праздникъ свв. Царственныхъ мучениковъ, Преосвященнѣйшiй епископъ Манхеттенскiй Iеронимъ, викарiй Восточно-Американской Епархiи (РПЦЗ), освятилъ регалiи на долгожданое путишествiе на Родину. Возвращенiе регалiй стало основнымъ событiемъ минувшей недѣли. Безцѣнныя реликвiи, среди которыхъ грамоты, серебряныя блюда, знамена сегодня были выставлены въ фойѣ Кубанскаго казачьяго хора на всеобщее обозрѣнiе. Гостей встрѣчалъ Кубанскiй духовой оркестръ. А всѣ желающiе могли ознакомиться съ издѣлiями мастеровъ-умѣльцевъ. На выставкѣ декоративно-прикладнаго искусства университета культуры и искусствъ были представлены плетеныя салфетки и издѣлiя изъ соломки.

Первымъ кубанское войско, хоть и не съ круглой, но очень важной датой, поздравилъ глава края АлександръТкачевъ, назвавъ возрожденiе ККВ высшей цѣлью не только для казаковъ, но и всей пятимиллiонной Кубани:

- Эти два десятилѣтiя были временемъ, когда мы буквально поднимались изъ руинъ, по крупицамъ собирали свою память и наслѣдiе, – подчеркнулъ глава края Александръ Ткачевъ. И сегодня у Кубани снова есть и легендарный памятникъ Екатеринѣ Великой, бѣлый войсковой казачiй соборъ Александра Невскаго – душа и символъ нашей земли. А самое главное, у Кубани снова есть молодое и сильное казачье войско, какъ и сто, и двѣсти лѣтъ назадъ, оно вѣрой и правдой служитъ Отечеству.

Въ этотъ день на глазахъ у тысячнаго зала состоялась историческая церемонiя передачи регалiй Кубанскаго казачяьяго войска. На одной сценѣ сошлись атаманъ ККВ въ Россiи и зарубежнаго войска. Согласно соглашенiю, Николай Долуда передалъ Александру Певневу копiи знаменъ, а тотъ въ свою очередь подлинники, привезенные изъ США.

Завершилось торжественное мѣропрiятiе выступленiемъ артистовъ прославленнаго „Кубанскаго казачьяго хора“.

On the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, Kuban Cossacks mark the day of their rebirth. In the great hall of the Kuban Cossack hall in Yekaterinodar, a triumphal gathering took place on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the restoration of the Kuban Cossack Voisko (KCV). In attendance were Yekaterinodar Governor Alexander N. Tkachyov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Yekaterinodar Vladimir A. Beketov, Ataman of the KCV Nikolai A. Doluda, His Eminence, Metropolitan Isidor or Yekaterinodar and the Kuban, members of Cossack organizations, and a delegation of Cossacks from the United States, led by Ataman Alexander M. Pewnew, which arrived on the eve of the great feast. Also taking active part in the festivities was our warden, from St. George's Church, Mr. John Rimakis.

The heroes of the occasion received their principal gift several days before the official celebrations. A second shipment of regalia, having left abroad almost 90 years prior, returned to Yekaterinodar. The regalia were held for many years in the U.S., in the KCV Museum in Howell, New Jersey. In this little American town, the Kuban Cossacks built a Cossack cultural center with a museum, as well as a picturesque little church, dedicated to St. George the Trophy-bearer. On July 17 of this year, on the feast of the Holy Royal Martyrs, His Grace, Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, vicar bishop of the Eastern American Diocese (ROCOR), blessed the regalia for their long-awaited trip home. The return of the regalia was the bedrock event of this festive week. Priceless artifacts, including imperial gramatas, silverware, and banners among others, were placed on display for all to see in the foyer of the Kuban Cossack Choir hall. Guests were greeted by the Kuban Concert Band, while all who wished could acquaint themselves with the works of masters of the previous century. Also presented as part of the arts and crafts display of the University of Culture and the Arts were wicker kerchiefs and articles made from straw.

The Kuban Voisko was first greeted with the important, if not round-numbered, date by Governor Tkachyov, who called the rebirth of the KCV the primary goal not only of the Cossacks, but of the entire five-million strong Kuban, as well, saying:

"These two decades have been a time when we literally raised ourselves up from the ruins, resurrecting piece by piece our memory and heritage. And today the Kuban once again has its legendary memorial to Catherine the Great, the white Cossack Voisko Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky – the soul and symbol of our land. But most importantly, the Kuban once more has its youthful and mighty Cossack Voisko, as it did a century and two centuries ago, which with faith and truth serves the Fatherland."

On this day, in front of thousands of witnesses in the hall, the historic hand-over ceremony of the Kuban Cossack Voisko regalia took place. The atamans of the KCV in Russia and abroad came together on stage and, according to their agreement, Nikolai Doluda handed over to Alexander Pewnew replicas of the banners, while the later handed over the originals, shipped from the United States.

The triumphal event ended with a performance by members of the famed Kuban Cossack Choir.

Для прихожанъ св. Николаевскаго и св. Георгіевскаго храмовъ, праздникъ преп. Сергія Радонежскаго имѣетъ особое значеніе. Преп. Сергій является покровителемъ приходского издательства и въ приходѣ также хранится глубокочтимая икона преподобнаго. Въ среду 7 октября, наканунѣ праздника въ св. Николаевскомъ храмѣ было отслужено Всенощое бдѣнiе о. Сергіемъ, о. Іоной, діак. Леонидомъ и діак. Наѳаномъ Мусселли. Въ четвергъ утромъ настоятель возглавилъ Божественную литургiю въ сослуженіи прот. Іосифа Ликвара (настоятеля храма свв. Петра и Павла, Джерси-Сити, ПЦА), прот. Зорана Радовича (настоятеля св. Георгіевскаго храма въ городѣ Элизабетъ, СПЦ), iерея Николая Мандюка (настоятеля св. Николаевскаго храма въ Миллвиллѣ), протодіак. Павла Волкова (св. Серафимовскій храмъ, Си-Клифъ) и вышеупомянутаго духовенства. Въ концѣ Литургіи провозгласили многолѣтіе о. настоятелю по случаю его тезоименитства, сотрудникамъ издательства преп. Сергія, и всѣмъ именинникамъ. Послѣ литургiи сестричество устроило трапезу всѣмъ присутствующимъ, за которой о. Сергій разсказалъ о своей поѣздки въ Россію. Редакцiя сердечно и любезно поздравляетъ отца Сергiя съ днемъ его тезоименитства.

For parishioners of St. Nicholas and St. George’s Churches, the feast of St. Sergius of Radonezh has is of great significance. St. Sergius is the patron saint of the parish publishing house, and a venerable icon of the saint is housed in the parish. On Wednesday, October 7, on the eve of the feast, an All-Night Vigil was served in St. Nicholas Church by Fr. Serge, Fr. Jonah, Fr. Leonid and Fr. Nathan Mousselli. On Thursday morning, the rector celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by Archpriest Joseph Lickwar (rector of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Jersey City, OCA), Archpriest Zoran Radovic (rector of St. George's Church in Elizabeth, SOC), Priest Nicholas Manduke (rector of St. Nicholas Church in Millville, NJ), Protodeacon Pavel Wolkow (St. Seraphim Church, Sea Cliff, NY), and the above-mentioned clergy. Upon completion of the Liturgy, the polychronion was sung to Fr. Serge on account of his namesday, as well as to the staff of the St. Sergius Publishing House and everyone celebrating his namesday. Afterwards, the sisterhood provided a luncheon for all in attendance, during the course of which Fr. Serge shared stories from his trip to Russia. The editors sincerely and lovingly congratulate Fr. Serge on his Saint's day.

Въ субботу 3го и въ воскресенье 4го октября, въ св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ прошли торжественныя богослуженiя въ недѣлю по Воздвиженіи и въ день Обрѣтенія мощей свят. Димитрія Ростовскаго чудотворца. Въ субботу вечеромъ прибылъ Преосвященнѣйшій епископъ Хотинскiй Мелетiй, а также Преосвященнѣйшій епископъ Мэйфильдскій Георгій, который въ пятницу вернулся въ США въ сопровожденiи о. Сергiя послѣ историческаго принесенія Курской Коренной иконы Божіей Матери въ предѣлы Россіи. Богослуженія возглавилъ еп. Мелетій въ сослуженіи приходского духовенства, и также прот. Виктора Цешковскiй, іерея Иліи Марзева (ключарь св. Сергiевсаго собора въ Кливлендѣ), и іеродіакона Никиты. Послѣ пѣнiя многолѣтiя, владыка Мелетiй, всвязи съ Одтанiемъ Воздвиженiя, торжественно внесъ св. Крестъ въ алтарь. Послѣ Литургіи, Атаманъ Певневъ показалъ казачiй музей преосвященнымъ архіереямъ (еп. Мелетiй самъ является кубанскимъ казакомъ) и разсказалъ о процессѣ возвращеніи регаліи на Родину. Затѣмъ сестры предложили обильную трапезу для всѣхъ прихожанъ и гостей.

On Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th of October, festive divine services took place in St. George's Church for the Sunday after the Exaltation, as well as the Finding of the Relics of St. Demetrius of Rostov. On Saturday evening, His Grace, Bishop Meletiy of Khotin, arrived at the church., His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield, also attended, having arrived in the U.S. the previous day from Russia, where he and the Fr. Serge had been taking part in the historic trip of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God to the homeland. The divine services were led by Bishop Meletiy, co-served by the parish clergy, as well as Archpriest Victor Tseshkovsky, Priest Ilia Marzev (dean of the St. Sergius Cathedral in Cleveland, OH), and Hierodeacon Nikita. After the singing of the polychronion, Bishop Meletiy triumphantly carried the Holy Cross into the altar, in commemoration of the Leavetaking of the Exaltation. After the Liturgy, Ataman Pewnew opened the Cossack hall to our great hierarchs, and told Bishops Meletiy (a Kuban Cossack himself) and George about the process of returning the Cossack regalia to Russia.
