Въ понедѣльникъ 18 января, наканунѣ праздника Крещенія Господня въ Св. Георгіевскомъ храмѣ была отслужена Вечерня съ Литургіей и Великое Освященіе воды приходскимъ духовенствомъ. Вечеромъ богомольцы собрались въ Св. Николаевскомъ храмѣ на Великое Повечеріе и Утреню. На следующее утро, въ самый день праздника Крещенія Господня, Первоіерархъ Русской Зарубежной Церкви, Высокопреосвященнѣйшій митрополитъ Восточно-Американскій и Нью-Іоркскій Иларіонъ, прибылъ въ Краснобреговѣ въ Св. Николаевскій храмъ и возглавилъ Божественную литургію. Его Высокопреосвященству сослужили настоятель о. Сергій, прот. Іосифъ Ликваръ (настоятель храма свв. Петра и Павла въ Джерзи-Сити, шт. Нью-Джерси), и приходское духовенство: іерей Іона и діак. Леонидъ. На маломъ входѣ, согласно постановленію Архіерейскаго Синода РПЦЗ, митр. Иларіонъ наградилъ о. Сергія правомъ ношенія креста съ украшеніями. Въ концѣ Литургіи Митрополитъ возглавилъ чинъ Великаго освященія воды и крестный ходъ черезъ городъ на рѣку Навасинкъ. На берегу рѣки Владыка провозгласилъ праздничное Евангеліе, освятилъ воды рѣки и выпустилъ бѣлаго голубя. Затѣмъ Митрополитъ далъ свое благословеніе двумъ рабамъ Божіимъ изъ Курска окунуться въ водахъ рѣки Навасинкъ, этимъ продолжая старую Русскую традицію. Въ то же время, духовенство и приходскіе дѣтки выпустили голубей надъ рѣкой въ воспоминаніе Святого Духа, Который сошелъ на Спасителя на Іорданѣ. Послѣ крестнаго хода, митр. Иларіонъ привѣтствовалъ прихожанъ съ великимъ праздникомъ и отмѣтилъ какъ пріятно видѣть, что старыя русскія Крещенскія традиціи продолжаются за рубежомъ. Въ отвѣтномъ словѣ, о. Сергій поблагодарилъ Его Высокопреосвященство за Первоіераршій визитъ въ Краснобрегово и преподнесъ ему новую бѣлую митру отъ имени прихода. Онъ также преподнесъ икону Курской Божіей Матери старостѣ Св. Георгіевскаго храма, Іоанну Георгіевичу Римакису, по случаю его дня ангела. On Monday, January 18, the eve of the feast of the Epiphany of Our Lord, Vespers with Liturgy and the Great Blessing of the Water were served by the parish clergy in St. George’s Church. That evening, worshipers gathered in St. Nicholas Church for the Great Compline and Matins. The following morning, on the very day of the feast, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern American and New York, arrived at St. Nicholas Church in Red Bank and celebrated the Divine Liturgy. His Eminence was co-served by the rector, Fr. Serge, Archpriest Joseph Lickwar (rector of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Jersey City, NJ), and the parish clergy: Priest Jonah and Deacon Leonid. During the Little Entrance, in accordance with a resolution of the ROCOR Synod, Fr. Serge was awarded the right to wear the jeweled cross. Upon completion of the Liturgy, the Metropolitan performed the rite of the Great Blessing of the Water and led a procession through the city to the Navesink River. On the riverbank, His Eminence proclaimed the festal Gospel reading, blessed the river waters and released a white dove. The Metropolitan then gave his blessing to two servants of God from Kursk to jump into the Navesink River, continuing an old Russian tradition. Simultaneously, the clergy and parish children released doves over the river, representative of the Holy Spirit, Who descended upon the Savior in the Jordan. After the procession, Metropolitan Hilarion greeted the parishioners with the great feast and noted how pleasant it was to see that old Russian Theophany customs continue to be performed abroad. In his response, Fr. Serge thanked His Eminence for his hierarchal visit to Red Bank and presented him with a new white miter on behalf of the parish. He also presented a copy of the Kursk Mother of God to the warden of St. George’s Church, John Rimakis, on the occasion of his namesday. A bountiful luncheon was held in the parish hall. Сегодня рано утромъ, на 87-ом году жизни, отошла ко Господу наша старейшая прихожанка, и одна изъ основателей Св. Георгiевскаго храма Анна Кирилловна Боско - мать старшей сестры Валентины Николаевны Римакисъ. Анну Кирилловну возлюбилъ каждый, кто имѣлъ возможность съ ней общаться и видѣть ее подлинные русскiе глаза и нежную улыбку. Эта замѣчательная женщина посвятила всю свою жизнь Кубанскому казачеству и благоустройству Св. Георгiевскаго храма. Отъ имени настоятеля, клира и всѣхъ прихожанъ, редакцiя выражаетъ искреннее соболезнованiе Старостѣ Iоанну Георгiевичу, его супругѣ Валентинѣ Николаевнѣ и чадамъ Екатеринѣ и Георгiю. Первая панихида будетъ отслужена въ воскресенье 17го въ 19:30 ч., вторая панихида во вторникъ 19го въ 19:00 ч., а отпѣванiе состоится въ среду 20го въ 10:00 ч. Всѣ службы будутъ въ Св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ.

Early this morning, in her 87th year of life, our senior parishioner and one of the founders of St. George's Church, Anna Kyrillovna Bosko, mother of our head sister, Valentina Nikolaevna Rimakis, reposed in the Lord. Anna Kyrillovna was beloved by all who had a chance to converse with her and see her truly Russian eyes and tender smile. This remarkable woman devoted her whole life to the Kuban Cossacks and to the well-being of St. George's Church. On behalf of the rector, klir, and every parishioner, the editorial staff would like to express their sincerest condolences to Warden John Rimakis, his wife Valentina Nikolaevna, and their children Katherine and George. The first requiem service will take place on Sunday the 17th at 7:30 PM, the second on Tuesday the 19th at 7:00 PM, and the funeral will be held on Wednesday the 20th at 10:00 AM. All services will be held in St. George's Church.

Въ воскресенье 10 января, въ недѣлю свв. Богоотецъ, о. Сергiй возглавилъ Божественную литургiю въ Св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ въ сослуженiи приходского духовенства: о. Iоны и о. Леонида. Во время причащенiя духовенства въ храмѣ провозгласили Рождественское посланiе Святѣйшаго Патрiарха Московскаго и всея Руси Кирилла. Въ конце литургiи, о. Сергiй чествовалъ прихожанина Давида Селика по случаю его тезоименитства и о. Леонидъ провозгласилъ ему и другимъ именинникамъ многая лѣта. Во время цѣлованiя креста, о. Сергiй передалъ каждому прихожанину маленькiе подарки въ связи съ праздникомъ Рождества Христова.

Послѣ цѣлованiя креста, въ казачьемъ залѣ съ большимъ успѣхомъ прошла первая ежегодная Рождественская Ёлка. Приходскiе дѣтки представили уникальное представленiе Рождественскихъ стихотворенiй, пѣсней и танцевъ. Самымъ замѣчательнымъ моментомъ спектакля сталъ прiѣздъ Дѣдушки Мороза, который порадовалъ всѣхъ своимъ присутствiемъ. Получивъ благословенiе отъ настоятеля, Дѣдъ Морозъ велѣлъ всѣмъ собрашимся спѣть тропарь празднику и затѣмъ раздалъ всѣмъ дѣткамъ, и даже духовенству и атаману подарочки. Проведя хороводъ, пришло время Дѣду Морозу прощаться съ дѣтками. О. Сергiй и атаманъ поблагодарили Дѣдушку Мороза за его посѣщенiе Св. Георгiевскаго храма и въ отвѣтъ Дѣдъ Морозъ поздравилъ прихожанъ и уѣхалъ на слѣдующiй приходъ. Искренняя благодарность Дѣду Морозу, сестричеству и всѣмъ дѣткамъ за прекрасную Ёлку. On Sunday, January 10, on the Sunday of the Kinsmen of the Lord, Fr. Serge celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. George's Church, co-served by the parish clergy: Fr. Jonah and Fr. Leonid. During the communion of the clergy, the Nativity Epistle of His Holiness Kyrill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, was read aloud in the church. Upon completion of the Liturgy, Fr. Serge honored parishioner David Selick, on the occasion of his namesday, and Fr. Leonid proclaimed the polychronion for him and other namesday celebrants. During the kissing of the cross, Fr. Serge presented each parishioner a small present in honor of the Feast of the Lord's Nativity.

After the kissing of cross, the parish's first annual Christmas Yolka was held in the Cossack hall with great success. Parish children presented a unique show of Christmas poems, songs, and dances. The most remarkable moment of the show came with the arrival of Grandfather Frost, who overjoyed everybody with his presence. Having received a blessing from the rector, Grandfather Frost called upon everyone present to sing the troparion and kontakion of the feast, then handing out presents to all the parish children, as well as to the clergy and the ataman. After leading everyone in song, it came time for Grandfather Frost to part with the children. Fr. Serge and the ataman thanked Grandfather Frost for his visit to St. George's Church, and in return Grandfather Frost congratulated the parishioners with the feast and left for the next parish. На второй день праздника Рождества Христова, Православный мiръ празднуетъ Соборъ Пресвятой Богородицы - Виновницы праздника, родившая Спасителя и Господа нашего Iисуса Христа. Въ сей праздничный день iерей Iона и дiаконъ Леонидъ отслужили Божественную литургiю въ Св. Геогiевскомъ храмѣ. За литургiей также молился и причащился настоятель о. Сергiй. On the second day of the Nativity of our Lord, the Orthodox world celebrates the feast of the Synaxis of the Mother of God - the cause of this great feast, having borne our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. On this joyous day, Priest Jonah and Deacon Leonid served the Divine Liturgy in St. George's Church. Fr. Serge also prayed and communed during the Divine Liturgy. Въ четвергъ 7 января, въ великiй, двунадесятый, и всеславный праздникъ Рождества Господа Бога и Спаса нашего Iисуса Христа, въ Св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ была отслужена Божественная литургiя и наканунѣ Всенощное бдѣнiе. Богослуженiя возглавилъ настоятель храма прот. Сергiй Лукьяновъ, въ сослуженiи приходского духовенства: iерея Iоны Кампбелла и дiак. Леонида Рожкова. On Thursday, January 7, on the great and all-praised feast of the Nativity of our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ, a Divine Liturgy was served in St. George's Church, following an All-Night Vigil the night before. The divine services were led by rector Archpriest Serge Lukianov, co-served by parish clergy: Priest Jonah Campbell and Deacon Leonid Roschko. Upon completion of the Liturgy, the parishioners all sang out together, singing Christmas carols and congratulating one another with the great feast. Click here for photos.

19 декабря, въ день памяти святителя Николая, Мирликійскихъ Чудотворца, Преосвященнѣйшій епископъ Мэйфильдскій Георгій возглавилъ богослуженія въ Св. Николаевскомъ храмѣ по случаю престольнаго праздника. Наканунѣ праздника, прихожане и богомольцы торжественно встрѣтили чудотворную Курскую Коренную икону Божіей Матери и Преосвященнѣйшаго Владыку съ крестнымъ ходомъ передъ началомъ Всенощнаго бдѣнія. Всенощную возглавилъ епископъ Георгій въ сослуженіи настоятеля прот. Сергія и приходского духовенства – іерея Іоны и діакона Леонида. По окончаніи Всенощнаго бдѣнія была отслужена литія объ упокоеніи новопреставленныхъ архіепископа Чикагскаго и Средняго Запада Іова (ПЦА) и архим. Іоасафа (Маклелланъ), отошедшіе ко Господу въ тотже день. Послѣ литіи о. Сергій произнесъ трогательную рѣчь въ память новопреставленныхъ.

На слѣдующее утро, несмотря на то, что снѣжная буря обрушилась на всю епархію, прихожане собрались восхвалить своего Небеснаго Покровителя и отмѣтить свой престольный праздникъ. Послѣ торжественной встрѣчи чудотворной иконы и владыки, начилась Божественная литургія, возглавляемая Преосвященнѣйшимъ епископомъ Георгіемъ въ сослуженіи приходского духовенства, а также іерея Леонида Гофермана и іерея Виталія Лялюкова. По окончаніи литургіи, отецъ Сергій привѣтствовалъ Владыку Георгія, благодаря его за архипастырскій визитъ и преподнеся ему копію Курской Коренной иконы Божіей Матери. Затѣмъ Владыка преподнесъ копію иконы старостѣ Николаю Евгеньевичу Бурбело по случаю его тезоименитства, а маленькія копіи получили алтарники Николай Леонидовичъ Рожковъ и братья Николай и Андрей (день ангела 13 дек.) Георгіевичи Левитскіе. Послѣ службы въ приходскомъ залѣ состоялась праздничная трапеза.

Въ субботу вечеромъ, несмотря на великій снѣгопадъ, маленькая группа вѣрующихъ наполнила Св. Георгіевскій храмъ своей искренней молитвой, встрѣчая Владыку и съ  нимъ чудотворную икону Божіей Матери, для которой была приготовлена приходской молодежью, во главѣ съ Екатериной Ивановной Римакисъ, великолѣпная голубая рамка изъ цвѣтовъ. Къ сожалѣнію, отрицательная погода заставила отмѣнить службы въ воскресенье утромъ, но прихожане славили Всевышняго, благодаря Его за то, что имъ была дана возможность приложиться къ иконѣ до Ея отбытія въ южные штаты. On December 19, the feast day of St. Nicholas, Wonderworker of Myra in Lycia, His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield, led the divine services in Red Bank on the occasion of our parish’s patronal feast day. On Friday, December 18, the eve of the feast, parishioners and other faithful festively greeted the wonder-working Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God and His Grace with a crucession prior to the start of the All-Night Vigil. The Vigil was led by Bishop George, co-served by the rector, Archpriest Serge, and parish clergy – Priest Jonah and Deacon Leonid. Upon completion of the Vigil, a litiy was served for the repose of the newly departed Archbishop Job of Chicago and the Midwest (OCA) and Archimandrite Joasaph (McLellan), who had passed away that same day. After the litiy, Fr. Serge offered a touching word on the half of the departed.

The following morning, despite a snowstorm sacking the whole diocese, parishioners gathered to glorify their Heavenly Intercessor and celebrate their parish feast day. The Divine Liturgy began after the triumphal greeting of the bishop and the icon, and was celebrated by His Grace, co-served by the parish clergy, as well as Priest Leonid Goferman and Priest Vitaly Lialukov. Upon completion of the Liturgy, Fr. Serge greeted His Grace, thanking him for his archpastoral visit and presenting him with a copy of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. Bishop George then presented a copy of the icon to the warden, Nicholas E. Burbelo, on the occasion of the latter’s namesday, while smaller icons were presented to altar-servers Nikolai Roschko and brothers Nicholas and Andrew (namesday – Dec. 13) Levitsky. After the service, a festal luncheon was offered in the parish hall.

On Saturday evening, despite the heavy snowfall, a small group of the faithful filled the church with their heartfelt prayer, greeting the bishop and, along with him, the wonder-working icon of the Mother of God, for which a marvelous blue frame of flowers had been made by the parish youth, headed by Katherine Rimakis. Unfortunately, the poor weather necessitated canceling services on Sunday, but the faithful thanked the Almighty for the chance to venerate this holy icon before its departure to the South. Въ пятницу 4 декабря, Православная Церковь празднуетъ двунадесятый праздникъ Введения во храмъ Пресвятой Богородицы. „Въ этотъ день празднуется начало царства благодати, которая входитъ въ мiръ черезъ вхожденiе въ храмъ трехлѣтней богоизбранной Отроковицы“ (Архiеп. On Friday, December 4, the Orthodox Church celebrates the great feast day of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple. “On this day we celebrate the genesis of the Kingdom of Grace, that grace which enters of the world through the entry into the Temple of the three year-old Child, the elect of God” (Archb. Nikon (Rklitsky), 1973). On this great feast, divine services in St. George's Church were led by the rector, co-served by the parish clergy. Click here for photos.

Въ субботу 21го ноября, по окончаніи Всенощнаго бдѣнія, настоятель въ сослуженіи іерея Іоны и діак. Леонида отслужилъ панихиду по „галлиполійцамъ,“ бѣженцамъ изъ Россіи (около 150 тысячъ лицъ), которые въ 1920 покинули берега своей порабощенной Родины, во главѣ съ Генераломъ Петромъ Врангелемъ. Около 60 тысяч изъ нихъ находили временный покой на турецкихъ берегахъ, на полуостровѣ Галлиполи. Почти три года длилось „галлиполійское сидѣніе“, въ теченіе котораго множесто людей погубло отъ ранъ, болѣзней, холода и голода. Союзъ потомковъ галлиполійцевъ ежегодно чтитъ память своихъ родныхъ и близкихъ, прожившихъ эти тяжелые годы.

На панихиде также поминали новопреставленнаго Святѣшаго Патріарха Сербскаго Павла, почившій въ предыдущее воскресенье. Въ то воскресенье, 15го ноября, когда вѣсть о кончинѣ Его Святѣйшества дошла до нашего храма, за Божественной литургіей помянули почившаго Патріарха. Также поминался и убіенный іерей Даніилъ Сысоевъ, московскій священникъ, разстрѣленный 19го ноября въ собственномъ храмѣ мусульманскимъ экстремистомъ. По словамъ руководителя прессъ-службы Московской патріархіи священника Владиміра Вигилянскаго, лично знавшаго убитаго, „Отецъ Даніилъ былъ яркой фигурой въ московскомъ священствѣ – человѣкъ творческій, активный, истинный проповѣдникъ и миссіонеръ. Думаю, онъ пострадалъ именно изъ-за своей активной позиціи“. Да упокоетъ Господь Богъ души усопшихъ рабъ Своихъ!

On Saturday, November 21st, after completion of the All-Night Vigil, the rector, co-served by Priest Jonah and Deacon Leonid, served a Panihida for the “Gallipolites,” refugees from Russia (numbering about 150,000 souls), who left their newly enslaved homeland in 1920, under the leadership of General Peter Wrangel. Around 60,000 of these found temporary rest on Turkish shores, on the peninsula of Gallipoli. The “Stay in Gallopoli” lasted almost three years, over the course of which many people died from wounds, disease, cold, and hunger. Every year, the members of the Union of the Descendants of the Combatants of Gallopoli honor the memory of their friends and relatives who lived through these trying years.

Also commemorated during the Panihida was the His newly departed Holiness, Patriarch Pavle of Serbia, who reposed the previous Sunday. On that Sunday, November 15th, when news of His Holiness’ passing reached our church, Patriarch Pavle was commemorated during the Divine Liturgy. Commemorated at the Panihida as well was the murdered Fr. Daniel Sysoev, a Moscow priest, who was shot on November 19th in his church by a Muslim extremist. In the words Moscow Patriarchate Media Office spokesman Vladimir Vigilyansky, who knew the deceased personally, “Fr. Daniel was a lively figure in the Moscow priesthood – he was a man of creativity and activity, a true preacher and missionary. I think that he died namely as a result of his active stance.” May the Lord God grant rest unto the souls of His departed servants!

Въ субботу 31 октября и воскресенье 1 ноября, Преосвященнѣйшiй епископъ Мэйфильдскiй Георгiй возглавилъ богослуженiя въ Св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ. Въ субботу утромъ, Владыка молился въ алтарѣ во время Божественной литургiи въ день памяти Евангелиста Луки. По окончанiи Литургiи была отслужена панихида по убiенному брату Iосифу (Хоcе) Муньосу-Кортесу, хранитель Монреальской Иверской иконы Божiей Матери (по случаю годовщины его звѣрскаго убiенiя въ Аѳинахъ), и по его духовному отцу, архiеп. Чилiйскому Леонтiю (Филипповичу). Вечеромъ, Его Преосвященство встрѣчали подъ звонъ колоколовъ, послѣ чего было отслужено Всенощное бдѣнiе въ день памяти св. Iоанна Кронштадтскаго.

Въ воскресенье утромъ, въ 9:30 ч. состоялась встрѣча Владыки Георгiя. Дѣвушки прихода бросали по пути Владыкѣ цвѣты, а староста Св. Николаевскаго храма Николай Евгеньевичъ Бурбело, по случаю пребыванiя въ Грецiи старосты Св. Георгiевскаго храма Iоанна Георгiевича Римакиса, произнесъ привѣтственную рѣчь. Сослужили Его Преосвященству настоятель прот. Сергiй Лукьяновъ, прот. Викторъ Цешковскiй, iерей Iона Кампбеллъ и дiак. Леонидъ Рожковъ. Также присоединились къ празднику иподiаконы Димитрiй Креницкiй и Павелъ Дроздовскiй, и чтецъ Тимоѳей Хендерсонъ. По окончанiи литургiи, о. Сергiй преподнесъ Владыкѣ дивные деревянные крестъ и панагiю. отъ имени прихода. Послѣ службы состоялась трапеза въ казачьемъ залѣ, за которой о. Сергiй представилъ уникальный монтажъ фотографiй историческаго принесенiя Курской Коренной иконы Божiей Матери въ Россiю, разсказывая всѣмъ о своихъ воспоминанiяхъ этой чудной поѣздки.

On Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield, led the divine services in St. George's Church. On Saturday morning, Vladyka prayed in the altar during the Divine Liturgy. Upon completion of the Liturgy, a panihida was served for the murdered Brother Jose (Joseph) Munoz-Cortes, guardian of the Montreal Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, on the occasion of the anniversary of his brutal murder in Athens, and for his spiritual father, Archbishop Leonty (Filippovich) of Chile. That evening, His Grace was greeted to the peal of bells, thereupon commencing service of the All-Night Vigil in commemmoration of St. John of Kronstadt.

On Sunday morning, the greeting of Bishop George took place at 9:30 AM. Parish girls threw flowers at Vladyka's feet, while St. Nicholas Church warden Nicholas E. Burbelo (on the occasion of St. George's warden John G. Rimakis' current visit to Greece), gave a warm welcoming speech. Co-serving with His Grace were rector Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Archpriest Victor Tseshkovsky, Priest Jonah Campbell, and Deacon Leonid Roschko. Also visiting our church on this festive day were subdeacons Dememtrios Krenitsky and Paul Drozdowski, as well as Reader Timothy Henderson. Upon completion of the Liturgy, Fr. Serge presented His Grace with a marvelous wooden cross and panagia. After the service, a luncheon was held in the Cossack hall, during which Fr. Serge presented a unique montage of photos of the historic visit of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God to Russia, sharing his memories of that wondrous trip.

Въ воскресенье 25 октября послѣ Литургіи, членлы св. Николаевскаго Фонда устроили осенній танецъ для прихожанъ и друзей нашего прихода. Танецъ былъ устроенъ въ залѣ Католическаго прихода Рождества Христова въ Ферхейвенѣ. Во время обѣда приходскіе дѣтки и молодежь устроили выступленіе русскихъ танцевъ на радость всѣмъ присутствующимъ. Спасибо большое всѣмъ членамъ фонда и гостей за прекрасный вечерь.

On Sunday, October 25, after the Liturgy members of St. Nicholas Foundation held an autumn dance for parishioners and friends of our parish. The dance was held in the hall of Nativity Catholic Church in Fair Haven. During the luncheon, parish children regaled all present with a series of Russian dances. We are greatly thankful to all the members of the Fund and all the guests for a wonderful evening.

Въ праздникъ Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы, кубанскiе казаки отмѣчаютъ день своего возрожденiя. Въ большомъ залѣ Кубанскаго казачьяго хора въ Екатеринодарѣ состоялось торжественное собранiе по случаю 19-лѣтiя возрожденiя Кубанскаго казачьяго войска, въ которомъ приняли участiе администраторъ екатеринодарскаго края Александръ Николаевичъ Ткачевъ, предсѣдатель ЗСК Владимiръ Андреевичъ Бекетовъ, атаманъ ККВ Николай Александровичъ Долуда, Высокопреосвященнѣйшiй митрополитъ Екатеринодарскiй и Кубанскiй Исидоръ, члены казачьихъ обществъ, а также делегацiя казаковъ изъ США во главѣ съ атаманомъ Александромъ Михайловичемъ Певневымъ, прибывшая наканунѣ большого празднества. Также принимал участие в торжествах наш староста Св. Георгiевскаго храма гос. Iоаннъ Римакисъ.

Свой главный подарокъ виновники торжества получили за нѣсколько дней до офицiальнаго празднованiя. Въ Екатеринодаръ прибыла вторая партiя регалiй, вывезенныхъ за рубежъ почти девяносто лѣтъ назадъ. Регалiи хранились много лѣтъ въ США въ Музеѣ кубанскаго казачьяго войска за рубежомъ въ городѣ Ховеллъ, шт. Нью-Джерси. Въ этомъ маленкомъ Американскомъ селѣ, Кубанскiе казаки построили казачiй центръ съ музеемъ, и также уникальный храмъ св. великомученика Георгiя Побѣдоносца. 17 iюля с.г. на праздникъ свв. Царственныхъ мучениковъ, Преосвященнѣйшiй епископъ Манхеттенскiй Iеронимъ, викарiй Восточно-Американской Епархiи (РПЦЗ), освятилъ регалiи на долгожданое путишествiе на Родину. Возвращенiе регалiй стало основнымъ событiемъ минувшей недѣли. Безцѣнныя реликвiи, среди которыхъ грамоты, серебряныя блюда, знамена сегодня были выставлены въ фойѣ Кубанскаго казачьяго хора на всеобщее обозрѣнiе. Гостей встрѣчалъ Кубанскiй духовой оркестръ. А всѣ желающiе могли ознакомиться съ издѣлiями мастеровъ-умѣльцевъ. На выставкѣ декоративно-прикладнаго искусства университета культуры и искусствъ были представлены плетеныя салфетки и издѣлiя изъ соломки.

Первымъ кубанское войско, хоть и не съ круглой, но очень важной датой, поздравилъ глава края АлександръТкачевъ, назвавъ возрожденiе ККВ высшей цѣлью не только для казаковъ, но и всей пятимиллiонной Кубани:

- Эти два десятилѣтiя были временемъ, когда мы буквально поднимались изъ руинъ, по крупицамъ собирали свою память и наслѣдiе, – подчеркнулъ глава края Александръ Ткачевъ. И сегодня у Кубани снова есть и легендарный памятникъ Екатеринѣ Великой, бѣлый войсковой казачiй соборъ Александра Невскаго – душа и символъ нашей земли. А самое главное, у Кубани снова есть молодое и сильное казачье войско, какъ и сто, и двѣсти лѣтъ назадъ, оно вѣрой и правдой служитъ Отечеству.

Въ этотъ день на глазахъ у тысячнаго зала состоялась историческая церемонiя передачи регалiй Кубанскаго казачяьяго войска. На одной сценѣ сошлись атаманъ ККВ въ Россiи и зарубежнаго войска. Согласно соглашенiю, Николай Долуда передалъ Александру Певневу копiи знаменъ, а тотъ въ свою очередь подлинники, привезенные изъ США.

Завершилось торжественное мѣропрiятiе выступленiемъ артистовъ прославленнаго „Кубанскаго казачьяго хора“.

On the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, Kuban Cossacks mark the day of their rebirth. In the great hall of the Kuban Cossack hall in Yekaterinodar, a triumphal gathering took place on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the restoration of the Kuban Cossack Voisko (KCV). In attendance were Yekaterinodar Governor Alexander N. Tkachyov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Yekaterinodar Vladimir A. Beketov, Ataman of the KCV Nikolai A. Doluda, His Eminence, Metropolitan Isidor or Yekaterinodar and the Kuban, members of Cossack organizations, and a delegation of Cossacks from the United States, led by Ataman Alexander M. Pewnew, which arrived on the eve of the great feast. Also taking active part in the festivities was our warden, from St. George's Church, Mr. John Rimakis.

The heroes of the occasion received their principal gift several days before the official celebrations. A second shipment of regalia, having left abroad almost 90 years prior, returned to Yekaterinodar. The regalia were held for many years in the U.S., in the KCV Museum in Howell, New Jersey. In this little American town, the Kuban Cossacks built a Cossack cultural center with a museum, as well as a picturesque little church, dedicated to St. George the Trophy-bearer. On July 17 of this year, on the feast of the Holy Royal Martyrs, His Grace, Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, vicar bishop of the Eastern American Diocese (ROCOR), blessed the regalia for their long-awaited trip home. The return of the regalia was the bedrock event of this festive week. Priceless artifacts, including imperial gramatas, silverware, and banners among others, were placed on display for all to see in the foyer  of the Kuban Cossack Choir hall. Guests were greeted by the Kuban Concert Band, while all who wished could acquaint themselves with the works of masters of the previous century. Also presented as part of the arts and crafts display of the University of Culture and the Arts  were wicker kerchiefs and articles made from straw.

The Kuban Voisko was first greeted with the important, if not round-numbered, date by Governor Tkachyov, who called the rebirth of the KCV the primary goal not only of the Cossacks, but of  the entire five-million strong Kuban, as well, saying:

"These two decades have been a time when we literally raised ourselves up from the ruins, resurrecting piece by piece our memory and heritage. And today the Kuban once again has its legendary memorial to Catherine the Great,  the white Cossack Voisko Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky – the soul and symbol of our land. But most importantly, the Kuban once more has its youthful and mighty Cossack Voisko, as it did a century and two centuries ago, which with faith and truth serves the Fatherland."

On this day, in front of thousands of witnesses in the hall, the historic hand-over ceremony of the  Kuban Cossack Voisko regalia took place. The atamans of the KCV in Russia and abroad came together on stage and, according to their agreement, Nikolai Doluda handed over to Alexander Pewnew replicas of the banners, while the later handed over the originals, shipped from the United States.

The triumphal event ended with a performance by members of the famed Kuban Cossack Choir.

Сергій является покровителемъ приходского издательства и въ приходѣ также хранится глубокочтимая икона преподобнаго. Въ среду 7 октября, наканунѣ праздника въ св. Николаевскомъ храмѣ было отслужено Всенощое бдѣнiе о. Сергіемъ, о. Іоной, діак. Леонидомъ и діак. Наѳаномъ Мусселли. Въ четвергъ утромъ настоятель возглавилъ Божественную литургiю въ сослуженіи прот. Іосифа Ликвара (настоятеля храма свв. Петра и Павла, Джерси-Сити, ПЦА), прот. Зорана Радовича (настоятеля св. Георгіевскаго храма въ городѣ Элизабетъ, СПЦ), iерея Николая Мандюка (настоятеля св. Николаевскаго храма въ Миллвиллѣ), протодіак. Павла Волкова (св. Серафимовскій храмъ, Си-Клифъ) и вышеупомянутаго духовенства. Въ концѣ Литургіи провозгласили многолѣтіе о. настоятелю по случаю его тезоименитства, сотрудникамъ издательства преп. Сергія, и всѣмъ именинникамъ. Послѣ литургiи сестричество устроило трапезу всѣмъ присутствующимъ, за которой о. Сергій разсказалъ о своей поѣздки въ Россію. Редакцiя сердечно и любезно поздравляетъ отца Сергiя съ днемъ его тезоименитства.

For parishioners of St. Nicholas and St. George’s Churches, the feast of St. Sergius of Radonezh has is of great significance. St. Sergius is the patron saint of the parish publishing house, and a venerable icon of the saint is housed in the parish. On Wednesday, October 7, on the eve of the feast, an All-Night Vigil was served in St. Nicholas Church by Fr. Serge, Fr. Jonah, Fr. Leonid and Fr. Nathan Mousselli. On Thursday morning, the rector celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by Archpriest Joseph Lickwar (rector of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Jersey City, OCA), Archpriest Zoran Radovic (rector of St. George's Church in Elizabeth, SOC), Priest Nicholas Manduke (rector of St. Nicholas Church in Millville, NJ), Protodeacon Pavel Wolkow (St. Seraphim Church, Sea Cliff, NY), and the above-mentioned clergy. Upon completion of the Liturgy, the polychronion was sung to Fr. Serge on account of his namesday, as well as to the staff of the St. Sergius Publishing House and everyone celebrating his namesday. Afterwards, the sisterhood provided a luncheon for all in attendance, during the course of which Fr. Serge shared stories from his trip to Russia. The editors sincerely and lovingly congratulate Fr. Serge on his Saint's day.

Въ субботу 3го и въ воскресенье 4го октября, въ св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ прошли торжественныя богослуженiя въ недѣлю по Воздвиженіи и въ день Обрѣтенія мощей свят. Димитрія Ростовскаго чудотворца. Въ субботу вечеромъ прибылъ Преосвященнѣйшій епископъ Хотинскiй Мелетiй, а также Преосвященнѣйшій епископъ Мэйфильдскій Георгій, который въ пятницу вернулся въ США въ сопровожденiи о. Сергiя послѣ историческаго принесенія Курской Коренной иконы Божіей Матери въ предѣлы Россіи. Богослуженія возглавилъ еп. Мелетій въ сослуженіи приходского духовенства, и также прот. Виктора Цешковскiй, іерея Иліи Марзева (ключарь св. Сергiевсаго собора въ Кливлендѣ), и іеродіакона Никиты. Послѣ пѣнiя многолѣтiя, владыка Мелетiй, всвязи съ Одтанiемъ Воздвиженiя, торжественно внесъ св. Крестъ въ алтарь. Послѣ Литургіи, Атаманъ Певневъ показалъ казачiй музей преосвященнымъ архіереямъ (еп. Мелетiй самъ является кубанскимъ казакомъ) и разсказалъ о процессѣ возвращеніи регаліи на Родину. Затѣмъ сестры предложили обильную трапезу для всѣхъ прихожанъ и гостей.

On Saturday the 3rd and Sunday the 4th of October, festive divine services took place in St. George's Church for the Sunday after the Exaltation, as well as the Finding of the Relics of St. Demetrius of Rostov. On Saturday evening, His Grace, Bishop Meletiy of Khotin, arrived at the church., His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield, also attended, having arrived in the U.S. the previous day from Russia, where he and the Fr. Serge had been taking part in the historic trip of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God to the homeland. The divine services were led by Bishop Meletiy, co-served by the parish clergy, as well as Archpriest Victor Tseshkovsky, Priest Ilia Marzev (dean of the St. Sergius Cathedral in Cleveland, OH), and Hierodeacon Nikita. After the singing of the polychronion, Bishop Meletiy triumphantly carried the Holy Cross into the altar, in commemoration of the Leavetaking of the Exaltation. After the Liturgy, Ataman Pewnew opened the Cossack hall to our great hierarchs, and told Bishops Meletiy (a Kuban Cossack himself) and George about the process of returning the Cossack regalia to Russia. „Сей день Господень, радуйтеся людiе“! Поздравляемъ всѣхъ васъ, дорогiе посѣтители нашей приходской страницы, съ великимъ праздникомъ Рождества Пресвятой Богородицы и Приснодѣвы Марiи. Сей праздникъ является первымъ двунадесятымъ праздникомъ церковнаго года, и Святая Церковь сегодня призываетъ всѣхъ насъ на пиръ духовный, ибо „Iоакимъ и Анна торжествуютъ, начатокъ рождше нашего спасенiя, едину Богородицу. Съ нимиже и мы празднуемъ днесь отъ корене онаго Iессеева, блажаще Дѣву чистую“. Объ этомъ праздникѣ также пишетъ нашъ приснопамятный авва архiеп. Никонъ (Рклицкiй): „Этотъ праздникъ - утренняя заря, предшествующая восходу солнца и возвѣщающая радость всей вселенной черезъ ту радость, которую пережили Ея родители св. Iоакимъ и Анна, ибо родилась отроковица, изъ которой возсiяетъ Cолнце правды Христосъ Богъ“.

Въ этотъ радостный праздникъ прихожане и богомольцы собрались въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ на Всенощное бдѣнiе и Божественную литургiю. Богослуженiя отслужили iерей Iона и дiак. Леонидъ, при чудномъ пѣнiи смѣшаннаго хора на Всенощной и мужского хора на Литургiи. Во время Литургiи богомольцы ощутили особый празднечный духъ при монастырьскомъ пѣнiи и замѣчательной солнечной погодѣ. За это мы благодарны Господу Богу и Его пречистой матери, родившейся сегодня чтобы даровать намъ жизнь вѣчную черезъ своего Сына.

"This is the day of the Lord! Rejoice, O ye people!" We greet you all, dear readers of our parish website, with the great feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary. This feast is the first of the church year, and the Holy Church today calls upon all the faithful to partake in the spiritual banquet, for "Joachim and Anna keep festival, having brought into the world the only Theotokos, first fruit of our salvation. With them we celebrate the feast today, blessing the pure Virgin from the root of Jesse." Our memorable abba, Archbishop Nikon (Rklitsky), says this of the feast day: "This feast is the daybreak, forerunning the sunrise and announcing joy to all the world through the joy felt by Her parents, Sts. Joachim and Anna, for a child is born, through whom the Sun of Righteousness, Christ God, will shine forth."

On this joyous holiday, parishioners and others gathered in St. George's Church for the All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy. The divine services were led by Priest Jonah and Deacon Leonid, under the wondrous chanting of the mixed choir during the Vigil, and the male choir during the Liturgy. During the Liturgy, the faithful sensed a special, festive spirit, through the monastic singing and lovely sunny weather. For this we thank the Lord God and His Most Pure Mother, born today to grant unto us eternal life through Her Son.

Въ воскресенье 13 сентября, въ праздникъ Положенiя честнаго пояса Пресвятой Богородицы, викарiй Черновицкой и Буковинской епархiи, Преосвященнѣйшiй епископъ Хотинскiй Мелетiй, возглавилъ Божественную литургiю въ Краснобреговѣ, въ храмѣ святителя Николая Чудотворца. Владыкѣ сослужили iерей Iона, iеродиаконъ Никита, и дiак. Леонидъ, при большомъ стеченiи богомольцевъ. Владыка произнесъ замѣчательную проповѣдь о евангельскомъ чтенiи и о важности жить христiанской жизнью, чтобы быть достойнымъ званiя „избраннаго“. Въ концѣ Лиутргiи о. Iона привѣтствовалъ Владыку и отмѣтилъ особую духовную и братскую связь между нашимъ приходомъ и Черновицкой и Буковинской епархiи во главѣ съ ея правящимъ архiереемъ, митрополитомъ Онуфрiемъ. Отъ имени о. настоятеля, о. Iона преподнесъ Владыкѣ икону свят. Iоанна Шанхайскаго и масло изъ лампады у раки мощей святю Iоанна. Владыка выразилъ благодарность митр. Иларiону, о. Сергiю и всѣму приходу за теплую встрѣчу и возможность совершить Святое Евхаристiе въ нашемъ храмѣ. Онъ особенно привѣтствовалъ своихъ соотечественниковъ на украйнскомъ языкѣ и въ частности сказалъ какъ радостно видѣтъ что они нашли себѣ духовную и братскую семью въ предѣлахъ Америки. На глазахъ прихожанъ были радостныя слезы, видя своего родного архипастыря совершая Литургiю въ нашемъ приходѣ.

On Sunday, September 13, on the feast of the Placing of the Cincture of the Mother of God, the vicar bishop of the Chernovtsy Diocese (Ukranian Orthodox Church), His Grace, Bishop Meletiy of Khotin, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Red Bank, in the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. His Grace was co-served by Priest Jonah Campbell (assistant to the rector), Hierodeacon Nikita (Vladika's cell attendant), and Deacon Leonid Roschko, in the presence of many worshipers. Vladyka delivered an excellent sermon on the topic of the Gospel reading, in which he explained the importance of living a Christian life so that we may be worthy of being called one of the "chosen." At the end of the Liturgy, Fr. Jonah greeted Bishop Meletiy and outlined the unique brotherly and spiritual ties between the parish of St. Nicholas and the Chernovtsy Diocese along with her ruling hierarch, Metropolitan Onufry. On behalf of the rector, Fr. Jonah presented Vladyka with an icon of St. John of Shanghai, along with two bottles of oil from his tomb. Vladyka expressed his gratitude to Metropolitan Hilarion, rector Archpriest Serge Lukianov, and all the parishioners for their warm reception and the opportunity to perform the Holy Eucharist in St. Nicholas Church. He expressed a special greeting in Ukrainian to his fellow countrymen, who have found a new spiritual family in America. Tears were seen on the eyes of parishioners, who were overjoyed to see their beloved hierarch serve the Divine Liturgy in their parish.

After the Liturgy, a festive luncheon was held in honor of Vladyka in the parish hall, where parishioners had an opportunity to socialize with one another and speak to the hierarch. Later that same evening, Vladyka hosted a spiritual discussion and dinner for the parish clergy and parishioners. Click here for photographs.

Сегодня прибыла делегацiя Русской Зарубежной Церкви въ первопрестольный градъ Москву съ чудотворной Курской иконой Божiей Матери. Прессъ-служба Московской Патрiархiи опубликовала слова нашего Первоiерарха въ тотъ моментъ, когда икону вернулась на Русскую землю. Митрополитъ Иларiонъ отмѣтилъ: „Въ Россiю доставлена одна изъ главныхъ святынь Русской Православной Церкви — Курская Коренная икона Божiей Матери «Знаменiе». Эта икона имѣетъ огромное значенiе въ жизни каждаго православнаго человѣка. Она хранитъ насъ передъ лицомъ Господа и открываетъ ищущей душѣ дорогу къ свѣту. Я призываю всѣхъ вѣрующихъ прiйти въ храмъ поклониться великой святынѣ“. Въ свою очередь, митрополитъ  Ювеналiй сказалъ: „Возвращенiе иконы въ Россiю — великое историческое событiе, которое свидѣтельствуетъ о томъ, что Россiя вновь обрѣтаетъ образъ Святой Руси. Это должно способствовать объединенiю всѣхъ вѣрующихъ людей“.

Представьте себѣ, дорогiе прихожане, какая радость сегодня на небѣ, когда наши покойные Зарубежные Святители митр. Филаретъ, митр. Лавръ, архiеп. Никонъ, архiеп. Today the ROCOR delegation arrived in the Patriarchal See of Moscow, accompanying the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. The Media Office of the Moscow Patriarchate published the words of our First Hierarch at the very moment the icon returned to Russian soil. Metropolitan Hilarion noted, "One of the great sacred objects of the Russian Orthodox Church has returned to Russia - the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign." This icon has great meaning for the life of every Orthodox person. She shelters us before the fair of the Lord, and opens for every searching soul the path to the light. I call upon all of the faithful to come to church to venerate this great holy icon." On behalf of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Yuvenaliy said, "The return of the icon to Russia is a great historical event, which bears witness to the fact that Russia is once again taking on the image of Holy Russia. This should facilitate the unification of all of the faithful."

Imagine, dear parishioners, what joy there must be today in Heaven, when our departed Diasporan Hierarchs Metropolitan Philaret, Metropolitan Laurus, Archbishop Nikon, Archbishop Vitaly and many other see the great holy icon of the Russian Diaspora return to our Great Russia. Въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ прошла особая недѣля, вдохновенная благодатью и Божiей милостью. Въ среду 9 сентября, до начала вечерни и утрени преп. Iову Почаевскому въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ,  прибылъ нашъ викарiй, Преосвященнѣйшiй епископъ Георгiй. Владыка прiѣхалъ въ сопровожденiи iерея Iлiи Марзева (клирикъ св. Сергiевскаго каѳедральнаго собора въ Кливлендѣ) и своего келейника Закхея, изъ Свято-Троицкаго монастыря въ Ховеллъ по епархiальнымъ дѣламъ, и присутствовалъ на всѣхъ богослуженiяхъ. Въ праздникъ преп. Iова служилъ iерей Iона, а владыка порадовалъ хористовъ своимъ участiемъ въ мужскомъ хорѣ.

Въ праздникъ Усѣкновенiя главы св. Iоанна Крестителя, владыка возглавилъ богослуженiя, въ сослуженiи приходского духовенства, iерея Iлiи и также дiак. Андрея Псарева (клирикъ св. Троицкаго монастыря). Всенощную пѣли антифонно мужской и смѣшанный хоры подъ управленiемъ о. Сергiя и чт. Нектарiя. Въ концѣ Литургiи была отслужена заупокойная литiя, за которой поминали  всѣхъ воиновъ на полѣ брани животъ свой положившихъ, и всѣхъ православныхъ христiанъ убiенныхъ въ терактѣ 11 сентября 2001 г. в Нью-Iоркѣ.

Послѣ литiи о. Сергiй привѣтствовалъ Владыку и поблагодарилъ его за молитвенное участiе на богослуженiяхъ въ нашемъ храмѣ. Послѣ Литургiи владыка, въ сопровожденiи о. Сергiя и о. It has been a special week at St. George's Church, filled with God's grace and mercy. On Wednesday, September 9, before the beginning of the vespers and matins on the feast of St. Job of Pochaev, our vicar, Bishop George, arrived in Howell. His Grace was accompanied by Priest Ilia Marzev (cleric of St. Sergius Cathedral in Cleveland, OH) and his  helper Zacchaeus, and arrived in Howell from Holy Trinity Monastery on diocesan business, taking the time to attend all of the divine services. On the feast of St. Job, Fr. Jonah served, while Vladyka brought joy to the choristers by taking part in the male choir.

On the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, His Grace led the divine services, co-served by our parish clergy, as well as Priest Ilia and Deacon Andrei Psarev (cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery). The Vigil was sung antiphonally by the male and mixed choirs, under the direction of Fr. Serge and Reader Nektary. At the end of the Liturgy, a litiy for the departed was served, at which were commemorated all those warriors who laid down their lives for the Faith, the Tsar, and the Fatherland, as well as all those Orthodox Christians killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11.

After the litiy, Fr. Serge greeted Vladyka, thanking him for his prayerful participation at the divine services in our church. after the Liturgy Vladyka, accompanied by Fr. Serge and Fr. Ilia, left for New York to join the remaining ROCOR delegates, who will be traveling to Russia with the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. Click here for photos.

5 и 6 сентября  состоялся „малый“ престольный  праздникъ Свято-Троицкаго монастыря,  нижній храмъ котораго посвященъ  преп. Іову Почаевскому, день котораго  широко празднуется въ монастырѣ,  по традиціи, въ воскресенье до  американскаго Дня труда. Согласно традиціи нашего прихода, прихожане во главѣ съ настоятелемъ и клиромъ совершили ежегодное паломничество въ Свято-Троицкій монастырь, чтобы принять участіе въ этомъ праздникѣ.

Богослуженія возглавилъ епископъ Мэйфильдскій Георгій, въ сослуженіи множества епархіальнаго и монастырскаго духовенства, включая настоятеля, о. Леонида и о. Iону. Праздникъ начался  въ субботу въ 15:00 ч., когда духовенство и паломники собрались у Свято-Троицкаго собора. Оттуда отправились крестнымъ ходомъ къ монастырскому кладбищенскому храму для встрѣчи Почаевской Божіей Матери. Затѣмъ, при возвращеніи въ Свято-Троицкій соборъ, передъ иконами Божіей Матери и преподобнаго Іова Почаевскаго было совершенно всенародное пѣніе акаѳиста великому угоднику Божію. Въ 19:00 ч., послѣ духовно и тѣлесно насыщающаго ужина въ монастырской трапезной, было отслужено Всенощное бдѣніе, украшено великолѣпнымъ пѣніемъ монастырскаго хора.

Въ воскресенье 6 сентября, въ 9:00 ч. состоялась встрѣча  епископа Георгія подъ сладкозвучнымъ  звономъ монастырскихъ колоколовъ. Божественная литургія прошла въ молитвенномъ духѣ, вызывая у всѣхъ вѣрующихъ глубокія чувства радости и покаянія. Изъ-за большого стеченія паломниковъ, народъ причащался изъ двухъ чашъ. Въ своей проповѣди, Владыка Георгій говорилъ о жизни преп. Іова и о его трудахъ, особенно печатаніе книгъ. Владыка напомнилъ всѣмъ, что столь важную отрасль жизни Свято-Троицкаго монастыря представляетъ собой изданіе типографіей преп. Іова (праздникъ котораго и являлся) духовныхъ матеріаловъ на пользу вѣрующимъ. Владыка тѣмже умолялъ всѣхъ заниматься духовнымъ чтеніемъ, безъ котораго спасеніе становиться на много труднѣе. Церковь, объяснилъ архипастырь, по словамъ приснопамятнаго архіепископа Никона является великой Учительницей, которая „научаетъ своихъ чадъ, какъ должно жить и какъ должно умирать“. По окончаніи Литургіи былъ проведенъ вокругъ собора крестный ходъ.

Послѣ Литургіи была представдена всѣмъ паломникамъ обильная трапеза, послѣ которой всѣ смогли гулять по монастырю, посѣщать книжный магазинъ или сидѣть въ тѣни деревьевъ до 16:00 ч., когда на монастырскомъ кладбищѣ состоялось освященіе новаго памятника Епископа Митрофана (Зноско-Боровскаго), скончавшагося въ 2002 г.

Ночью, въ лѣсу на монастырскомъ участкѣ былъ проведенъ костеръ для нашихъ прихожанъ, гдѣ пѣлись русскія пѣсни и готовились шашлыки. September 5 and 6 marked the “little” feast day of Holy Trinity Monastery, whose lower church is named in honor of St. Job of Pochaev, whose memory is traditionally greatly celebrated at the monastery on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. In accordance with parish tradition, parishioners, led by the rector and clergy, undertook a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery to take part in the feast.  

The divine services were led by Bishop George of Mayfield, co-served by a multitude of diocesan and monastery clergy, including our rector, Fr. Leonid, and Fr. Jonah. The feast began on Saturday at 3:00 PM, when the clergy and pilgrims gathered at Holy Trinity Cathedral. From there, all departed with a crucession to the monastery's cemetery church to greet the Icon of the Pochaev Mother of God. Following this, and upon returning Holy Trinity Cathedral, an akathist to St. Job was sung by the people, before an icon of the Mother of God and the great God-pleaser. At 7:00 PM, after a spiritually and physically satisfying dinner in the monastery refectory, the All-Night Vigil was served, greatly beautified by the singing of the monastery choir.  

On Sunday, September 6, the greeting of Bishop George took place at 9:00 AM, to the mellifluous ringing of monastery bells. The Divine Liturgy proceeded in a prayerful spirit, summoning in the faithful deep feelings of joy and repentance. Due to the high quantity of pilgrims, the people communed from two chalices. In his sermon, Bishop George spoke on the life of St. Job and his works, especially the printing of books. Vladyka reminded everyone, that a very important aspect of life at Holy Trinity Monastery is found in the publishing of spiritual materials by the Publishing House of St. Job (whose feast day it was) for the good of the faithful. Vladyka herein urged the faithful to engage in spiritual reading, without which salvation becomes much more difficult. The archpastor explained that the Church, in the words of the ever-memorable Archbishop Nikon, is a great Teacher, which “teaches Her children how to live and how to die.” At the end of the Liturgy, a crucession proceeded around the cathedral.  

After the Liturgy, a bountiful luncheon was offered to all the pilgrims, after which all were allowed to walk around the monastery, visit the bookstore, or just sit in the shade of the trees until 4:00 PM, when a new tombstone was blessed in the monastery cemetery for Bishop Mitrofan (Znosko-Borovsky), who reposed in 2002.

At night, in the woods of the monastery, a campfire was held for our parishioners, where Russian songs were sung and shish-ka-bob was prepared. On Monday morning, after the Midnight Office and Matins, our pilgrims gathered their things and, bidding farewell to this holy place, headed home. Click here for photos of the pilgrimage.

Въ воскресенье 30 августа, Божественная литургiя была отслужена приходскимъ духовенствомъ въ Краснобреговѣ. Въ концѣ литургiи о. настоятель привѣтствовалъ отца iерея Iону и его семью, поздравляя о. Iону съ назначенiемъ въ нашъ приходъ и на должность епархiальнаго казначея. Отъ имени прихода о. Сергiй преподнесъ матушкѣ икону Ангела Хранителя, а о. Iонѣ новый подризникъ. On Sunday, August 30, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the parish clergy in Red Bank. Upon completion of the Liturgy, the rector greeted Fr. Jonah and his family, congratulating Fr. Jonah on his assignment to our parish and appointment as diocesan treasurer. On behalf of the parish, Fr. Serge presented an icon of the Guardian Angel to Matushka, as well as a new alb for Fr. Jonah. Afterwards, a picnic in honor of the new priest and his family was held at the rector's residence. Parishioners had a chance to get to better know Fr. Jonah and Matushka Elena. Въ сей радостный день Православная церковь отмѣчаетъ двунадесятый праздникъ Успенiя Пресвятой Богородицы. Въ четвергъ 27 августа, богомольцы собрались въ св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ на Всенощное бдѣнiе съ чиномъ погребенiя Божiей Матери. Всенощную возглавилъ настоятель прот. Сергiй въ сослуженiи iерея Iоны и дiак. Леонида. Послѣ шестопсалмiи хоръ запѣлъ дивные тропари Пресвятой Богородицѣ на напѣвъ „Благообразный Iосифъ“  и священники вынесли святую плащаницу изъ алтаря пока всѣ богомольцы стояли на колѣняхъ. Плащаница лежала въ серединѣ храма, широко украшена цвѣтами и благоухающая мvромъ. Стоя въ храмѣ рядомъ съ плащаницей, вѣрующiе переживали особую благодать Царицы небесной, которую можно лучше описать словами приснопамятнаго архiепископа Никона (Рклицкаго): „Въ Божiей Матери, какъ поется въ другомъ пѣснопѣнiи, побѣждены законы природы. Въ Ней дѣвственность привела къ рождеству и смерть къ жизни. Послѣ рождества Она осталась Дѣвой и послѣ смерти живой. Такъ что этотъ праздникъ является исполненiемъ праздника Пасхи, когда мы «смерти празднуемъ умерщвленiе и иного вѣчнаго житiя начало». Въ другомъ священномъ пѣснопѣнiи Церковь зоветъ въ этотъ день «прiидите научимся путямъ Господнимъ и спасемся спасенiемъ вѣчнымъ». Да, дѣйствительно, здѣсь мы входимъ въ соприкосновенiе и въ общенiе съ высшимъ мiромъ и съ высшей жизнью, отдѣленной отъ нашего ума и чувствъ непроницаемой стѣной, но достигаемой высшей способностью нашего духа - вѣрой и любовью. Тамъ дѣйствуютъ совсѣмъ иные законы бытiя, непостижимые нашимъ умомъ, тайна этой жизни прiоткрывается лишь въ богообщенiи черезь Церковь“.

Въ своей проповѣди о. Сергiй разсказалъ прихожанамъ о своемъ паломничествѣ въ Iерусалимъ и участiи въ торжественномъ крестномъ ходѣ съ плащаницей Божiей Матери изъ Малой Геѳсиманiи (около Гроба Господня) въ саму Геѳсиманiю на мѣсто погребенiя. Во время прикладыванiя о. Сергiй раздавалъ богомольцамъ кресты изъ Iерусалима съ сосудами Iорданской воды, Iерусалимскаго ладана и земли и также Виѳлiемскаго елея. Во время славословiе богомольцы совершили крестный ходъ вокруг храма со святой плащаницей, послѣ чего состоялась исповѣдь всего прихода на самой плащаницѣ.

Въ пятницу 28 августа, въ самый день празника, настоятель въ сослуженiи iерея Iоны и дiакона Леонида совершилъ  акаѳистъ Успенiю Божiей Матери, затѣмъ и Божественную литургiю. Всѣ присутствующiе причастились Святыхъ Христовыхъ Таинъ, изъ-за чего ощущался искреннiй духъ единой православной семьи. По окончанiи Литургiи подъ колокольнымъ звономъ былъ совершенъ крестный ходъ вокругъ храма, послѣ котораго всѣ подошли на цѣлованiе креста, впервые получая благословенiе своего новаго священника о. On this joyous day, the Orthodox Church marks the great feast day of the Dormition of Holy Theotokos. On Thursday, August 27, the faithful gathered at St. George's Church for the All-Night Vigil with the Burial Rite of the Mother of God. The Vigil was led by the rector, Archpriest Serge, co-served by Priest Jonah and Deacon Leonid. After the Six Psalms, the choir began to sing the wondrous troparia to the Most Holy Theotokos to the melody of "The Noble Joseph," as the priests brought out the holy shroud from the altar and the faithful stood on their knees. The shroud lay in the center of the church, beautifully adorned with flowers and smelling of sweet myrrh. Standing by the shroud, the faithful felt the special grace of the Heavenly Mother, which can be better described in the words of the ever-memorable Archbishop Nikon (Rklitsky): "In the Mother of God, as it is sung in another hymn, the laws of nature are defeated. In Her, virginity led to birth, and death to life. After giving birth, she remained a virgin, and after her death, remained alive. Thereby this feast is the fulfillment of the Paschal feast, when we 'celebrate the annihilation of death and the beginning of eternal life.' In yet another holy hymn, the Church calls out on this day, 'O come, let us learn the ways of the Lord and be saved with an eternal salvation.' Yes, truly, here we enter into contact with a higher world and a higher life, separated from from our minds and feelings by an impenetrable wall, but attainable through the higher faculties of our spirit - faith and love. There, entirely different laws of creation are at work, incomprehensible to our minds; the mystery of this life is opened only through our communication with God through the Church."

In his sermon, Fr. Serge spoke to the parishioners of his pilgrimage to Jerusalem and his having taken part in a burial procession with the shroud of the Mother of God from Little Gethsemane (near the Tomb of the Lord) to Gethsemane itself, to the place of Our Lady's burial. While the faithful venerated the shroud, Fr. Serge handed out crosses from Jerusalem with containers of water from the Jordan River, incense and soil from Jerusalem, and oil from Bethlehem. During the doxology, the faithful  performed a burial procession around the church with the holy shroud, after which  the whole parish was confessed on the shroud itself.

On Friday, August 28, the very day of the feast, the rector, co-served by Priest Jonah and Deacon Leonid, served an akathist to the Dormition of the Mother of God, followed by the Divine Liturgy. All those present partook of Holy Communion, which inspired a feeling of true fraternity in the church. Following the Liturgy, under the sound of pealing bells, a crucession proceeded around the church, after which all came up to kiss the Cross, receiving for the first time a blessing from their new priest, Fr. Jonah. Before everyone departed, Fr. Serge gathered all of the students in the parish and read a prayer for the beginning of the school year. Click here for photos of the feast.

On Sunday, August 23,the Divine Liturgy was served in St. Nicholas Church in Red Bank. The Liturgy was led by Archpriest Alexander Golubov (cleric of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York), co-served by Fr. Leonid. Fr. Во вторникъ 19 августа, Православная церковь отмѣчаетъ двунадесятый праздникъ Преображенiя Господа, Бога и Спаса нашего Iисуса Христа. ͵͵Господь преобразился передъ избранными Своими учениками - Петромъ, Iаковомъ и Iоанномъ для того, чтобы укрѣпить ихъ вѣру въ то, что Онъ - истинный Богъ и что Онъ добровольно принимаетъ крестныя страданiя для нашего спасенiя, и для того, чтобы черезъ этихъ трехъ учениковъ сдѣлать эту вѣру достоянiемъ Своей Церкви. Въ то же время Своимъ Преображенiемъ Господь подалъ намъ примѣръ для нашего личнаго преображенiя, необходимо для вхожденiя въ Его Царствоʹʹ (Архiеп. Никонъ - проповѣдь въ день Преображенiя, 1970 г.). On Tuesday, August 19, the Orthodox Church celebrates the great feast day of the Transfiguration of our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ. "The Lord transfigured before His chosen disciples - Peter, James, and John - so that he might fortifiy their faith in Him as the true God, and in His willful sufferings on the Cross for our salvation,  and so that through these three disciples he might make this faith the inheritance of His Church. At the same time, through his Transfiguration the Lord gave us an example for our own personal transfiguration, the achievement of which is necessary for our entry into His Kingdom" (Archbiship Nikon, Sermon on the Transfiguration, 1970). The Divine Liturgy was served by Fr. Serge and Fr. Leonid in St. George's Church. After the Liturgy, a crucession with the blessing of the fruits for the faithful took place. Click here for photos.

Въ пятницу 14 августа, въ первый день Успенскаго поста, Православная церковь отмѣчаетъ праздникъ Происхожденiя честныхъ древъ Животворящаго Креста, который также называется „Первый Спасъ“, „Медовый Спасъ“ или „Спасъ на водѣ“. Въ концѣ Литургiи по уставу совершается Малое Освященiе воды и также освященiя меда. Въ этотъ день пчелы прекращаютъ производить медъ и начинаютъ ѣсть свои запасы. Поэтому медъ собирается и приносится въ храмъ на освященiе въ Первый Спасъ. Вслѣдъ за Медовымъ Спасомъ слѣдуетъ Яблочный и Орѣховый, отсюда и появилось названiе „Первый“ Спасъ. Наканунѣ праздника въ св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ были отслужены вечерня и утреня съ Выносомъ креста. Въ самый день праздника о. Сергiй отслужилъ Божественную литургiю, а также Освященiя воды и меда. Послѣ литургiи о. настоятель въ сопровожденiи о. дiакона, чт. Нектарiя, чт. Петра и А.М. Сливчука отбыли въ Сѣв. Каролину на рукоположенiе о. On Friday, August 14, on the first day of the Dormition Fast, the Orthodox Church marks the feast day of the Procession of the Life-Giving Cross, also known as the "First Savior," the "Honey Savior," or the "Savior on the Water." At the end of the Liturgy, in accordance with the Typicon, the Lesser Blessing of the Water and blessing of honey take place. On this day, bees cease their production of honey and begin to eat their reserves. Therefore, the honey is collected and brought to church for blessing on the First Feast of the Savior. On the eve of the feast, the vigil and matins with the Bringing out of the Cross were served in St. George's Church. On the day of the feast, Fr. Serge celebrated the Divine Liturgy, as well as the blessing of the water and honey. Click here to view pictures of the feast.

After the Liturgy, the rector, alongside the deacon, Reader Nektary, Reader Peter, and A.M. Slivchuk, left for North Carolina to attend the ordination of Fr. Jonah Campbell to the priesthood (see the diocesan site here). We expect the arrival of Fr. Jonah and his family before the feast of the Dormition. On Sunday, August 30, a picnic will take place at the home of the rector in honor of the newly arrived priest and his family.

Подъ музыкой оркестра Алексѣя Ольховскаго, казаки и другіе прихожане наслаждались шашлыкомъ, котлетами, арбузомъ и тортомъ. Во время пикника присутствующіе отмѣчали 60-лѣтній юбилей атамана ККВ Александра Михайловича Певнева и супруги его Елизаветы, 28-лѣтній юбилей настоятеля о. Сергія и мат. Любови, и 27-лѣтній юбилей старосты Iоанна Георгiевича Римакиса и супруги его Валентины, въ томъ числѣ и восьмой день рожденья Алексѣя Леонидовича Рожкова, прислужника нашихъ храмовъ. On Sunday, August 9, upon conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the annual Cossack picnic was held at the Cossack center. To the tunes of the orchestra of Alexei Olhovsky, Cossacks and other parishioners enjoyed shish kabob, kotlety, watermelon and cake. During the picnic, attendees honored the 60th wedding anniversary of the Ataman of the Kuban Voisko, Alexander Pewnew, and his wife, Elizabeth, the 28th anniversary of parish rector Fr. Serge and Matushka Lubov, and the 27th anniversary of St. George’s warden John Rimakis and his wife, Valentina, as well as the 8th birthday of Aleksei Roschko, an altar server in our churches. Уже скоро подходитъ время для ежегоднаго приходского паломничества въ св. Троицкiй Монастырь во время американскаго праздника „Labor Day“. Въ прошломъ году наше первое паломничество прошло очень успѣшно и въ духѣ братской любви, и сумѣло объединить нашу общину. Если Богъ дастъ, въ этомъ году паломничество состоится 5-7-го сентября. Паломники будутъ участвовать въ торжественныхъ богослуженiяхъ, возглавляемыхъ Первоiерархомъ Русской Зарубежной Церкви Митрополитомъ Иларiономъ, въ сослуженiи другихъ архiереевъ и священнослужителей со всей епархiи. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The time for our annual parish pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery on Labor Day weekend is quickly approaching. Our first pilgrimage last year was a great success, and it served to unite our parish in the spirit of brotherly love. God willing, our second pilgrimage will be held from September 5-7th of this year. Pilgrims will take part in the Divine Services, led by His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, who will be co-served by a multitude of clergy from throughout the diocese. 3 августа 2009 г. -  Измѣненiя въ расписанiи богослуженiй
Доводимъ къ свѣдѣнiю всѣмъ прихожанамъ и богомольцамъ св. Николаевскаго и св. Георгiевскаго храмовъ, что Первоiерархъ Русской Зарубежной Церкви Митрополитъ Иларiонъ возглавитъ Всенощное бдѣнiе въ св. Александро-Невскомъ соборѣ въ субботу 8-го августа. Всенощной 8-го августа въ св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ не будетъ. Въ воскресенье 9-го августа, Божественная литургiя начнется въ 9:30 ч. въ св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ и затѣмъ состоится ежегодный казачiй пикникъ.

Въ субботу 15-го и въ воскресенье 16-го августа службъ не будетъ. Члены клира, во главѣ съ настоятелямъ, примутъ участiе въ iерейской хиротонiи дiак. Iоны Кампбеллъ въ св. Николаевскомъ храмѣ въ Сѣв. August 3, 2009 - Revisions to the Schedule of Services
Please be advised that the All-Night Vigil on August 8th in St. George's Church has been cancelled. Metropolitan Hilarion, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, will lead the All-Night Vigil in St. Alexander Nevky Cathedral in Howell at 6:00 PM. On Sunday, August 9th, the Divine Liturgy will be held in St. George's Church at 9:30 AM followed by the annual Cossack picnic.

On Saturday, August 15th and Sunday, August 16th, all services are cancelled. Parish clergy will be traveling to North Carolina for the ordination of Deacon Jonah Campbell to the priesthood. Fr. Jonah has been assigned to our parish and will also work in the Diocesan administration. Please pray for the health and salvation of Deacon Jonah and Matushka Helen with their children.

Въ четвергъ 16 іюля, епархіальное торжество свв. Царственныхъ мучениковъ началось въ св. Георгіевскомъ храмѣ. Въ 17:45 ч., подъ колокольнымъ звономъ встрѣтили мощи свв. Царственныхъ мучениковъ, послѣ котораго началось Всенощное бдѣніе. Во время полиелея состоялось всенародное пѣніе акаѳиста св. царю-мученику Николаю. Сборный хоръ пѣвчихъ со всей епархіи, подъ управленіемъ чт. Нектарія, прекрасно пѣлъ Всенощную, пока священники исповѣдовали многочисленное количество вѣрующихъ.

Въ слѣдующее утро, въ самый день праздника, духовенство Восточно-Американской епархіи собралось для празднованія памяти свв. Царственныхъ мучениковъ. Въ 9:30 ч. состоялась встрѣча викарія Восточно-Американской епархіи епископа Манхеттенскаго Іеронима, послѣ чего сразу началась Божественная литургія. Большое количество богомольцевъ, пришедшихъ помолиться свв. Страстотерпцамъ, заполнило весь нашъ храмъ. Богослуженіе прошло съ особымъ подъемомъ и благолѣпіемъ. Ради многочисленности причастниковъ, Святые Дары преподавались изъ двухъ Чашъ. По окончаніи Литургіи, былъ совершенъ крестный ходъ вокругъ храма, при концѣ котораго состоялось освященіе Его Преосвященствомъ казачьихъ регалій и оружія, готовящихся къ возвращенію въ г. Екатеринодаръ изъ казачьяго музея, сохранившаго эти историческія цѣнности уже болѣе 70 лѣтъ. Послѣ цѣлованія креста, вѣрующимъ раздавали иконы свв. On  Thursday, July 16, at St. George’s Church, the Diocesan feast of the Holy Royal Martyrs began. At 5:45 PM, to the sound of pealing bells, the faithful greeted the relics of the Holy Royal Martyrs, after which began the All-Night Vigil. During the Polyeleos, the singing of the akathist to the Holy Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II commenced; a joint choir, composed of singers from across the Diocese and under the direction of Reader Nektary, beautifully adorned the Vigil while the priests confessed a great number of the faithful.

The following morning, on the very day of the feast, the clergy of the Eastern American Diocese gathered to celebrate the memory of the Holy Royal Martyrs. At 9:30 AM, the clergy greeted the Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese, Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, after which the Divine Liturgy began. A great many worshippers, coming to pray to the Holy Passion-Bearers, filled our entire church. The divine services proceeded in a spirit of great enthusiasm and splendor. Due to the multitudinosity of believers, the Holy Gifts were brought forth in two Chalices. Upon completion of the Liturgy, a procession around the church began, at the end of which took place the blessing by His Grace of the Cossack regalia and arms, which are being prepared for return to the city of Yekaterinodar from the Kuban Cossack museum, where these priceless cultural artifacts had been preserved for over 70 years. After the kissing of the Cross, the faithful were given icons of the Holy Royal Martyrs, and were then invited outside where, under a large canopy, a bountiful luncheon was provided. Въ воскресенье 12го iюля, въ день праздника святыхъ Первоверховныхъ Апостоловъ Петра и Павла, въ Свято-Николаевскомъ Храмѣ была отслужена Божественная литургiя. Литургiю возглавилъ прот. Александръ Голубовъ (клирикъ св. Николаевскаго Патрiаршаго Собора въ Нью-Iоркѣ) въ сослуженiи дiак. Леонида, при стеченiи многихъ богомольцевъ. По окончанiи службы, о. Леонидъ поздравилъ всѣхъ именинниковъ отъ имени о. настоятеля, который  въ этотъ день служилъ въ лѣтнемъ лагерѣ ОРЮР. Отецъ Сергiй благополучно вернулся домой въ воскресенье вечеромъ, уже закончивъ свою должность въ лагерѣ на сей годъ. Нажмите здѣсь для фотографiй.

On Sunday, July 12th, on the feast day of the Holy Apostles Peter & Paul, the Divine Liturgy was served in St. Nicholas Church. Archpriest Alexander Golubov (St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral, NYC) led the divine services along with Deacon Leonid. At the end of the service, Fr. Leonid congratulated all the Peters and Pauls of the parish on behalf of the rector, who was serving in SGPA summer camp. On Sunday evening, Fr. Serge returned home after completing his duties as spiritual counselor in the camp. Click here for photographs.

Въ пятницу 3-го iюля, члены Св. Николаевскаго фонда приняли участiе въ Краснобреговскомъ городскомъ празднованiе американскаго Дня независимости. Во время фестиваля, фондъ продавалъ русскiе матрешки, подарки, и сувениры на пользу реставрацiи Св. Николаевскаго храма. Губернаторъ штата Нью-Джерси, Джонъ Корзайнъ, и градоначальникъ Краснобрегово, Паскуалъ Менна, встрѣтились съ предсѣдателемъ фонда дiак. Леонидомъ во время фестиваля. О. July 4th, 2009
On Friday, July 3rd, members of the St. Nicholas Foundation participated in the Red Bank Independence Day Celebration. A vending booth was set up to sell Russian souvenirs to benefit the renovation of St. Nicholas Church. Governor Jon Corzine and Mayor Pasquale Menna met with foundation chairman Deacon Leonid, who congratulated them with the national holiday. Fr. Leonid also gave the governor an introduction to the Russian Orthodox Community in Red Bank and explained the functions of the foundation. Click here for photos.

Во вторникъ 30-го iюня, состоялось очередное засѣданiе церковно-приходского совѣта св. Николаевскаго храма съ участiемъ старосты и старшой сестры св. Георгiевскаго храма, Iоанна и Валентины Римакисъ.  Главная цѣль засѣданiя - подготовка къ торжеству свв. Царственныхъ мучениковъ, которое состоится 16-го и 17-го iюля с.г. Члены совѣта также обсудили рядъ благотворительныхъ мѣропрiятiй на вторую половину 2009 г.

On Tuesday, June 30, a regular meeting of the parish council of St. Nicholas Church was held; in attendance were the warden and head sister of St. George's Church, Mr. & Mrs. John Rimakis. The principal goal of the meeting was to discuss and prepare for the feast of the Holy Royal Martyrs, which is to take place on July 16-17 of this year. Council members also discussed a series of benevolent events for the second half of 2009.

1 іюля 2009 г. - Открытіе лѣтняго лагеря ОРЮР
Въ воскресенье 28 іюня, въ горахъ сѣвернаго Нью-Іорка, открылся лѣтній лагерь Организаціи росскійскихъ юныхъ развѣдчиковъ, дружина „Царское село“. Лагерь посѣщаютъ болѣе 120 мальчиковъ и дѣвушекъ (отъ 8 до 18 лѣтъ), которые проводятъ весь мѣсяцъ іюль въ лѣсу, спя въ палаткахъ и купаясь въ мѣстномъ озерѣ Сакандага. Но главная цѣль организаціи – воспитаніе молодежи въ православной, русскоязычной, братской средѣ. Отецъ Сергій уже восемь лѣтъ служитъ духовнымъ руководителемъ дружины. Въ воскресенье, была отслужена Божественная литургія въ лагерной часовнѣ св. великомуч. Георгія, послѣ котораго о. Сергій освятилъ подлагеря. Нажмите здѣсь для фотографій.

July 1, 2009 - The Opening of SGPA Summer Camp
On Sunday, June 28, in the hills of upstate New York, the summer camp of St. George Pathfinders of America, “Tsarskoe Selo” Druzhina (chapter), opened. The camp is attended by over 120 boys and girls (8 to 18 years of age), who spend the entire month of July in the woods, sleeping in tents and swimming in nearby Lake Sacandaga. The principal goal of the organization, however, is the extracurricular upbringing of children in an Orthodox, Russian-speaking, brotherly atmosphere. Father Serge has served as the Druzhina’s spiritual father for eight years. On Sunday, a Divine Liturgy was served in the camp’s St. George chapel. Following the Liturgy, Fr.
