31го мая 2009 г. - Воспоминанiе трагедiи въ Лiенцѣ
Перваго iюня 1945 г., при концѣ самой страшной войны въ человѣческой исторіи, въ городѣ Лiенцѣ были преданы на смерть въ СССР болѣе 20 тысячъ казаковъ и казачекъ. По обычаю, въ ближайшее воскресенье къ 1 iюня, казаки устраиваютъ особый день поминовенiя жертвъ этой трагедiи. Въ воскресенье 31го мая, въ недѣлю свв. Отецъ семи Вселенскихъ Соборовъ, о. Сергiй отслужилъ Божественную Литургiю въ сослуженiи дiакона въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ. Послѣ Литургiи, богомольцы во главѣ съ настоятелемъ и атаманомъ, отправились въ Свято-Владимiрское кладбище для панихиды у Св. Iоанно-Предтеченской часовни. На панихидѣ молитвенно поминали „всѣхъ казаковъ и казачекъ, всѣхъ невинно убiенныхъ отъ рукъ беззаконныхъ во градѣ Лiенцѣ, всѣхъ преданныхъ на смерть отъ злыхъ безбожниковъ и всѣхъ животъ свой положившихъ, въ тюрьмахъ и лагеряхъ умученныхъ и убiенныхъ.“ Въ своемъ словѣ, о. Сергій умолялъ всѣхъ быть ежедневными свидѣтелями святой Христовой вѣры, и не дать злу хитрымъ образомъ стать нормой, особенно изъ-за нашего молчанія. По окончанiи панихиды, всѣ присутствующiе вернулись въ казачiй залъ на поминальную трапезу. Атаманъ проинесъ рѣчъ, въ которой подчеркнулъ важность этого дня и объявилъ, что въ слѣдующемъ году поминовеніе 65-лѣтія трагедіи состоится въ самомъ Ліенцѣ, въ Австріи, и что делегація отъ нашего Войска обязательно приметъ участіе. Къ концу трапезы собрались на фотографію передъ большой картиной „Выдача казаковъ въ Ліенцѣ“ всѣ тѣ, кто выжилъ тѣ страшныя и печальныя событія. May 31, 2009 - Remembrance of Lienz Tragedy
On June 1, 1945, at the conclusion of the most terrible war in the history of mankind, in the mountain town of Lienz, over 20,000 Cossacks were rounded up and handed over to death in the Soviet Union. By tradition, Cossacks commemorate the victims of this tragedy every year on the nearest Sunday to June 1. On Sunday, May 31, on the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the Seven Ecumenical Councils, Fr. Serge served the Divine Liturgy at St. George's Church, co-served by Fr. Leonid. After the Liturgy, worshippers, headed by the rector and ataman, headed to St. Vladimir's Cemetery for a panihida at the Cossack memorial, near St. John's Chapel. Commemorated at the service were “every Cossack, all those who without fault were murdered at the hands of the lawless in the city of Lienz, all those given over unto death at the hands of the cruel godless ones, and all those who laid down their lives, who in prisons and in camps suffered and were killed.” Fr. Serge addressed the faithful with a short sermon on the need for all of us to be daily witnesses to the holy Christian faith, not permitting evil to beguile its way into the norm, especially on account of our silence. At the end of the panihida, all those in attendance returned to the Cossack hall for a commemorative luncheon. The ataman delivered a speech outlining the importance of this day, and announced that next year, the 65th anniversary of the tragedy will be commemorated in Lienz, Austria, and that a delegation from our Voisko will take part. Toward the end of the luncheon, all those in attendance who had survived those terrible and sorrowful events gathered for a photograph in front of the large painting, “The Extradition of the Cossacks at Lienz.” Memory eternal and eternal rest to all of the fallen at Lienz! May 29, 2009 - Summer Dance
On Friday, May 29th, the St. Nicholas Foundation held its annual "Summer on the Navesink" dance for parishioners and friends of our parish. The wonderful evening was held in the Monmouth Boat Club, located directly on the banks of the river. Click here for photographs.

28го мая 2009 г. - Изъ Жизни Прихода
     Въ пятницу 22го мая, въ день Перенесенія мощей Свят. Николая Чудотворца, начался уникальный праздничный періодъ для нашего прихода. 22го мая является малымъ престольнымъ праздникомъ Свято-Николаевскаго храма, ради котораго утромъ была отслужена въ немъ Божественная литургія.
     Въ слѣдующій день, была отслужена Литургія въ Свято-Георгіевскомъ храмѣ, по случаю праздованія памяти св. апостола Симона Зилота; въ этотъ день 27 лѣтъ тому назадъ, приснопамятный Митр. Филаретъ рукоположилъ о. Сергія въ діаконскій санъ.
     Въ воскресенье, богомольцы вернулись въ Свято-Николаевскій храмъ, чтобы почтить память свв. равноапостольныхъ первоучителей словенскихъ Кvрилла и Меѳодія. По окончаніи Литургіи, отецъ діаконъ провозгласилъ многолѣтіе Святѣйшему Патріарху Московскому и всея Руси Кvриллу, Секретарю Архіерейскому Синоду Архіепископу Кvриллу, и нашему сторожу рабу Божьему Кvриллу по случаю ихъ тезоименитства.
     Во вторникъ вечеромъ, прихожане собрались въ Свято-Георгіевскомъ храмѣ на отданіе Пасхи. Вечерня и утреня были отслужены іерусалимскимъ чиномъ, такъ какъ на свѣтлой недѣлѣ. Въ среду утромъ Литургія закончилась послѣднимъ за сей годъ пѣніемъ всерадостнаго и свѣтлаго тропаря Святой Пасхи: „Христосъ Воскресе!“.
     Наконецъ, въ среду вечеромъ, вѣрующіе прибыли въ Свято-Николаевскій храмъ на великій двунадесятый праздникъ Вознесенія Господня. Въ этотъ свѣтлый праздникъ, когда Господь „возшедъ на небеса, отонудуже и сошелъ еси“, православные христіане молятъ Господа: „Не остави насъ сирыхъ... да пріидетъ Твой Духъ, нося миръ мірови“. May 28, 2009 - Parish Life
     On Friday, May 22, on the day of the Translation of the Relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, there began a unique holiday period for our parish. The 22nd of May is the lesser parish feastday of St. Nicholas church, for which in her that morning was served a Divine Liturgy.
     The following day, a Liturgy was served in St. George’s Church, on the occasion of the celebration of the memory of the Holy Apostle St. Simon the Zealot; on this day 27 years prior, the ever-memorable Metropolitan Philaret ordained Fr. Serge to the deaconate.
     On Sunday, worshippers returned to St. Nicholas Church to honor the memory of Holy Equals-of-the-Apostles and Teachers of the Slavs, Sts. Cyril and Methodius. Upon completion of the Liturgy, the deacon pronounced the polychronion for His Holiness, Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kyrill, as well as the secretary of the Holy Synod, Archbishop Kyrill, and our parish caretaker, Kyrill, on the occasion of their namesday.
     On Tuesday evening, parishioners gathered in St. George’s Church in Freewood Acres for the leave-taking of Pascha. The Vespers and Matins were served in the Jerusalem rite, as they are on Bright Week. On Wednesday morning, the Liturgy ended, for the final time this year, with the singing of the all-joyous and glorious Paschal troparion: “Christ is Risen!”
     Finally, on Wednesday morning, the faithful arrived at St. Nicholas Church for the great feastday of the Ascension of the Lord. On this radiant feastday, when the Lord “ascendeth to heaven, whence He also descended,” Orthodox Christians pray that the Lord “not leave us orphans… may your Spirit come, bringing peace to the world.” On Thursday morning, the rector, co-served by the deacon, performed the Divine Liturgy, completing this wonderful and festive week. 16 мая 2009 г. - Собранiе Церковного Совѣта
Въ четвергъ 14го мая, въ резеденцiи настоятеля состоялось собранiе церковно-приходского совѣта Свято-Николаевскаго храма. Члены совѣта обсудили важные вопросы, касающихся продолженiя ремонта храма и дѣятельности разныхъ приходскихъ учрежденій, напр. Свято-Николаевскаго фонда, Cестричества и Издательства Преп. Сергiя Радонежскаго. Совѣтъ также одобрилъ созданiе приходской прессъ-службы подъ предсѣдательствомъ Василiя Васильевича Кобаша. Главная задача прессъ-службы – наблюдать за приходской интернетъ-странницей и организовать службу коммуникацiи на пользу прихожанъ и богомольцевъ. Слѣдующее собранiе состоится 25го iюня.

May 16, 2009 - Meeting of the Parish Council
On Thursday, May 14, a meeting of the Parish Council of St. Nicholas Church took place in the residence of the rector. Council members discussed several important questions relating to the continuing of renovations in the church, as well as the activities of several parish organizations, including the St. Nicholas Foundation, the Sisterhood, and the St. Sergius Publishing House. The Council also approved the creation of a parish Media Office, to be presided over by Vasily Kobasz. The principal responsibilities of the Office will include handling public relations (including newsletters and mailers), managing the parish website, and disseminating parish information to parishioners and other worshippers. The next meeting of the Council will be held on June 25.

12го мая 2009 г. - Праздникъ Св. Василiя Острогскаго
Во вторникъ 12 мая, делегація изъ нашего прихода во главѣ съ настоятелемъ посѣтила Свято-Георгіевскую церковь (Сербскій Патріархатъ) въ Елизаветградѣ (Elizabeth), Н.Дж., чтобы раздѣлить праздникъ Св. Василія Острожскаго. Литургію возглавилъ Архимандритъ Аѳанасій (Мастальскій), въ сослуженіи настоятеля іерея Зорана Радовича, о. Сергія и многочисленнаго духовенства СП и РПЦЗ. Послѣ литургіи состоялось освященіе калача, а затѣмъ трапеза въ приходскомъ залѣ. При концѣ дня братiя вернулась въ Фривудъ-Эйкерсъ, гдѣ были отслужены вечерня и утреня въ Преполовеніе Пятидесятницы. May 12, 2009 - Feast of St. Basil of Ostrog
On Tuesday, May 12, a delegation from our parish, headed by the rector, visited St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Elizabeth, NJ, to share in the feastday of St. Basil of Ostrog. Archimandrite Athanasy (Mastalsky) led the Divine Liturgy, co-served by the rector, Fr. Zoran Radovic, Fr. Serge, and a multitude of clergy of the Serbian Patriarchate and the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. After the Liturgy, the clergy blessed the Kolach, a traditional Slavic bread, after which a luncheon was held in the church hall. Toward evening, the brethren returned to St. George’s Church in Freewood Acres, where the vespers and matins for the Midfeast of Pentecost were served. Click here for pictures from the feastday.

У уторак 12ога маја, делегација из наше парохије, са протојерејем Сергијем на челу, је посјетила парохију Светога Георгија Српске Православне Цркве у Елизабету, Њ.Џ., и учествовали су у литургијској прослави Св. Василија Острошког. Литургији је началствовао Архимандрит Атанасије (Мастаљски), уз саслужеље старјешине храма протонамјесника Зорана Радовића, о. Сергеја, и многобројних клирика Српске Цркве и Руске Заграничне Цркве. Послије Литургије пререзан је славски колач, и гости су послужени са обилном трпезом у црквеној сали. Крајем истога дана, братија су се вратили у Фривуд-Ејкерс, гдје су и одслужили вечерње и јутарње службе за Преполовљење Празника Пресвете Тројице. Притисните овде за фотографије празника.

10го мая 2009 г. - День Матерей
Въ воскресенье 10го мая, въ недѣлю о разслабленномъ, Божественная Литургiя была отслужена въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ. Въ этотъ день Америка отмѣчаетъ „день матери“ для особаго чествованiя всѣхъ матерей. Сегодня по приходскому обычаю мужчины прихода приготовили трапезу для женщинъ. За обѣдомъ отецъ настоятель провозгласилъ многолѣтiе всѣмъ матерямъ нашей приходской семьи. Отъ имени всей церковной общины, желаемъ всѣмъ матерямъ радостный праздникъ и всѣхъ благъ! May 10, 2009 - Mother's Day
On Sunday, May 10th, the Sunday of the Paralytic, a Divine Liturgy was served in St. Nicholas Church. This is the day that Americans celebrate Mother's Day, a day meant to specially honor all mothers. Today, in accordance with parish tradition, the men of the parish prepared a luncheon for the women. As the lunch began, the rector pronounced the polychronion to all of the mothers of our parish family. 6го мая 2009 г. - Престольный Праздникъ
Въ среду 6го мая, въ день памяти Св. Великомученика и Побѣдоносца Георгiя, нашъ приходъ отмѣчалъ престольный праздникъ Св. Георгiевскаго храма. Наканунѣ праздника была отслужена всенощная, которую возглавилъ Преосвященнѣйшiй Георгiй, Епископъ Мейфилдскiй, въ сослуженiи Митроф. Прот. Виктора Потапова (Настоятель Iоанна-Предтеченскаго собора въ Вашингтонѣ), Прот. Сергiя Лукьянова, Протод. Iосифа Ярощука (Храмъ Св. Iоанна Кронштадскаго въ Ютикѣ), Протод. Леонида Михайличенко (Iоанно-Предтеченскiй соборъ въ Вашингтонѣ) и Дiак. Леонида Рожкова. Передъ богослуженiемъ, Протод. Леонидъ подарилъ храму мощи Свв. Георгiя, Мученцы Александры и другихъ святыхъ угодниковъ Божiихъ. Всенощная прошла въ молитвенномъ и праздничномъ духѣ.
     Въ среду утромъ настоятель совершилъ чинъ малаго освященiя воды, а затѣмъ состоялась встрѣча Преосвященнѣйшаго Епископа Георгiя. Во время часовъ Владыка постригъ сострудника Издательства Преп. Сергiя Радонежскаго, Петра Антоновича Бѣляева во чтецы. На Литургiи Владыкѣ сослужили Прот. Iосифъ Ликваръ (Настоятель Петропавловскаго храма въ Джерси-Сити), Прот. Филиппъ Петровскiй (Начальникъ Англiйской миссiи въ Джаксонѣ), Iерей Илья Ганъ, Iерей Вадимъ Арефьевъ (Храмъ Св. Iоанна Кронштадскаго въ Бруклинѣ), Митрополичiй Архидiаконъ Евгенiй Бурбело и вышеупомянутое духовенство. Въ концѣ Литургiи Владыка освятилъ всѣ новыя иконы, недавно повѣшенныя въ храмѣ во время ремонта. Также былъ проведенъ крестный ходъ вокругъ храма. Послѣ Литургiи настоятель поздравилъ Епископа Георгiя съ днемъ тезоименитства, и подарилъ ему сосуды для елея, ладана и святой воды отъ имени прихода.
     Въ казачьемъ залѣ была предложена праздничная трапеза. Во время трапезы представился уникальный и трогательный монтажъ, состоявшагося изъ болѣе 200 фотографiй и тема котораго была „Исторiя и жизнь Св. Георгiевскаго храма“. May 6, 2009 - Parish Feastday
On Wednesday, May 6th, on the commemoration day of the holy great-martyr and victory-bearer George, our parish of St. George marked its feastday. On the eve of the feast, an All-Night Vigil was served by His Grace, Bishop George of Mayfield, co-served by Mitred Archpriest Victor Potapov (Rector of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC), Archpriest Serge Lukianov, Protodeacon Joseph Jarostchuk (St. John of Kronstadt Church in Utica, NY), Protodeacon Leonid Mickle (St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC), and Deacon Leonid Roschko. Before the start of the service, Fr. Leonid Mickle presented our parish with the relics of St. George, the Holy Martyr Alexandra, and several other holy saints. The Vigil proceeded in a prayerful and festive spirit.
     On Wednesday morning, the rector performed the rite of the Lesser Blessing of the Water, followed by the greeting of His Grace, Bishop George. During the hours, Vladyka tonsured to the rank of reader a member of the St. Sergius Publishing House, Peter A. Beliaeff. During the Liturgy, His Grace was co-served by Archpriest Joseph Lickwar (Rector of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Jersey City, NJ), Archpriest Philip Petrovsky (Head of the English Mission in Jackson, NJ), Priest Ilya Gun, Priest Vadim Arefiev (St. John of Kronstadt Church in Brooklyn, NY), Metropolitan's Archdeacon Eugene Burbelo, and the above-mentioned clergy. At the end of the Liturgy, Vladyka blessed all of the new icons that had been put up over the course of the church renovation. A procession around the church was also held. At the end of the Liturgy, the rector congratulated Bishop George on his namesday, gifting him a set of sacred vessels for storing oil, incense, and holy water in the name of the parish.
     A festive luncheon was served in the Cossack hall. During the luncheon, a unique and touching montage, consisting of over 200 photographs, was presented, the theme of which was "The History and Life of St. George's Church." Prior to his departure, Bishop George offered his heartfelt thanks to all of the parishioners and guests for their warm welcome and joyous celebration of his namesday. 3го мая 2009 г. Недѣля Свв. Женъ Мvроносицъ
Въ воскресенье 3го мая, Свято-Николаевскій храмъ посѣтила двойная Пасхальная радость – прибыла къ намъ не только одигитрiя русскаго разсѣянiя, Курская Коренная икона Божiей Матери, но а также Его Преосвященство Георгій, Епископъ Мейфилдскій, благословилъ насъ своимъ архипастырскимъ визитомъ, въ теченіе котораго Владыка возглавилъ Божественную Литургію. Его Преосвященству сослужили настоятель храма прот. Сергій и діак. Леонидъ. Въ сію недѣлю отмѣчается память Свв. Женъ Мѵроносицъ, покровительницы нашего сестричества, которое въ первый разъ празднуетъ сегодня свои именины. По окончаніи литургіи, діаконъ провозгласилъ многолѣтіе Владыкѣ и всѣмъ членамъ сестричества, послѣ чего состоялась трапеза въ церковномъ залѣ, за которой всѣ чествовали и благодарили нашихъ сестеръ за ихъ любовь къ намъ и за ихъ работу въ святомъ храмѣ. Къ самому концу трапезы прихожане, христосоваясь другъ съ другомъ, славяще Бога возвращались домой, ожидая съ нетерпѣніемъ престольный праздникъ Св. Георгія, который начнется всего два дня спустя. May 3, 2009 - Holy Myrrhbearers
On Sunday, May 3, St. Nicholas Church was visited by a dual Paschal joy – not only were we visited by the Protectress of the Russian Diaspora, the Kursk Root icon of the Mother of God, but His Grace George, Bishop of Mayfield, also blessed us with his archpastoral visit, during which he led the Divine Liturgy. His Grace was co-served by the rector, Archpriest Serge, and Deacon Leonid. This Sunday we celebrate the memory of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women, the patronesses of our sisterhood, which celebrated its namesday today for the first time. Upon completion of the Liturgy, the deacon pronounced the polychronion to His Grace and to every member of the sisterhood, after which a luncheon was held in the church hall, during which our sisters were honored and thanked for their love to us and their work in the holy church. After the luncheon, parishioners parted one with another with the Paschal greeting and, glorifying God, returned home, anxiously awaiting the parish feastday of St. George, which will begin just two days hence. 2го мая 2009 г. - Визитъ Курской Иконы въ Свято-Георгiевскiй храмъ
Въ субботу 2го мая, въ Св. Георгiевскомъ храмѣ состоялась особая радостная всенощная. За послѣднiя двѣ недѣли проходилъ ремонтъ внутри храма, который закончился лишъ три минуты до всенощнаго бдѣнiя. Храмъ былъ полностью перекрашенъ и затѣмъ повѣшены болѣе 90 новыхъ иконъ для благоукрашенiя дома Божiя. Передъ началомъ богослуженiя прихожане встрѣтили чудотворный образъ Курской Коренной Божiей Матери, въ первый за 40 лѣтъ прибышiй въ Св. Георгiевскiй храмъ. Отецъ Сергiй исповѣдовалъ всѣхъ присутствующихъ на святой иконѣ пока всенощную служилъ дорогой другъ нашего прихода, Протоiерей Александръ Голубовъ. Когда хористы пѣли Пасхальный канонъ, чувствовался особый праздничный духъ въ обновленномъ храмѣ въ присутствiи самой Царицы Небесной. Въ концѣ такой чудной службы можно только сказать слава Господу Богу за то, что Онъ милуетъ насъ грѣшныхъ и послалъ Свою Матерь намъ на утѣшенiе и радость. Христосъ Воскресе! May 2, 2009 - Visit of Kursk Icon to St. George's Church
On Saturday, May 2, an especially joyous vigil was held in St. George's Church. The inside of the church had been undergoing renovations for the last two weeks, which finished not three minutes before the start of the All-Night Vigil. The church was fully repainted, and over 90 new icons were hung for the embellishment of the house of God. Before the beginning of the service, parishioners greeted the miraculous Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God, which visited St. George's for the first time in 40 years. Fr. Serge confessed all those in attendance on the holy icon while the vigil was served by a dear friend of our parish, Archpriest Alexander Golubov. While the choir sang the Paschal Canon, a special, festive spirit could be felt in the renewed church, and in the presence of the Heavenly Queen Herself. At the end of this wonderful service, one could but praise the Lord God for His mercy toward us in sending us His own Mother to comfort and gladden us. Christ is Risen!
