27го января, въ праздникъ Свят. Саввы Сербскаго, о. Сергiй, о. Леонидъ и чт. Нектарiй посѣтили и служили въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ Храмѣ (Сербская Православная Церковь) въ городѣ Элизабетъ, Нью-Джерси. Настоятель храма, священникъ Зоранъ Радовичъ, съ большой радостью принялъ духовенство изъ Краснобрегово, а также и другихъ клириковъ Восточно-Американской Епархiи. Отъ имени прихода, о. Сергiй подарилъ о. Зорану икону Свят. Николая. По окончанiи Литургiи состояласъ торжественная трапеза, за которой всѣ съ трепетомъ ожидали результаты голосованiя Помѣстнаго Соборы по выборамъ Патрiарха Московскаго и всея Руси. On January 27th, the feastday of St. Sabbas of Serbia, Fr. Serge, Fr. Leonid, and Reader Netkary visited St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The rector, Fr. Zoran Radovic, welcomed the visiting clergy from Red Bank, along with other clergymen from the Eastern American Diocese who came to participate in the Serbian feast. Fr. Serge presented an icon of St. Nicholas to Fr. Zoran on behalf of our parish. After the Liturgy, a festive luncheon was held, during which the faithful anxiously waited to hear the results of the Local Church Councils election of the new Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia. Серафима Саровскаго Чудотворца, духовенство Свято-Николаевскаго и Свято-Георгiевскаго Храмовъ посѣтили Свято-Серафимовскiй Храмъ въ городѣ Си-Клифъ, Нью-Iоркъ. О. Сергiй, о. Евтvхiй и о. Леонидъ сослужили съ духовенствомъ и настоятелемъ Свято-Серафимовскаго Храма. По окончанiи литургiи о. Сергiй привѣтствовалъ настоятеля Прот. Серафима Гана съ тезоименитствомъ, и поздравилъ его и прихожанъ съ престольнымъ праздникомъ. Затѣмъ о. Серафимъ принялъ гостей и сослужителей въ настоятельскихъ покояхъ. On Thursday, January 15th, the clergy of St. Nicholas and St. George Churches visited St. Seraphim's Church in Sea Cliff, New York, for the feastday of St. Seraphim of Sarov. Fr. Serge, Fr. Evtihiy, and Fr. Leonid co-served with the clergy and rector of St. Seraphim's Church. After the Liturgy, Fr. Serge greeted the rector Fr. Seraphim on the occasion of his namesday and congratulated the parish with the feastday of their patron saint. Fr. Seraphim then welcomed the visiting clergy into his residence for a reception. Во вторникъ 27го января, Помѣстный Соборъ Русской Православной Церкви избралъ Патрiаршаго Мѣстоблюстителя Митрополита Кvрилла 16мъ Патрiархомъ Московскимъ и всея Руси. Интронизацiя нареченнаго Патрiарха состоится 1го февраля въ Храмѣ Христа Спасителя. Въ Свято-Николаевскомъ Храмѣ состоится благодарственный молебенъ въ воскресенье 1го февраля.

On Tuesday January 27th, the Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church elected the Locum Tenens Metropolitan Kyrill as the 16th Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia. The enthronement of the Patriarch elect will take place on February 1st in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. A service of thanksgiving will be served at St. Nicholas Church on Sunday, February 1st.

Въ воскресенье 25го января по окончанiи Литургiи въ Свято-Николаевскомъ Храмѣ былъ отслуженъ молебенъ передъ началомъ Всероссiйскаго Помѣстнаго Собора. Настоятель произнесь проповѣдь, въ которой онъ призвалъ всѣхъ вѣрныхъ чадъ Святой Церкви усердно молиться за успѣшное проведенiе Собора. Особое обращенiе настоятеля слѣдуетъ на главной страницѣ. Затѣмъ о. Сергiй чествовалъ самыхъ младшихъ прислужниковъ за ихъ младенческое служенiе Господу Богу и подарилъ имъ иконы отъ имени прихода.

On Sunday, January 25th, a moleben was served in St. Nicholas Church after the Liturgy in honor of the upcoming Local Council of the Russian Orthodox Church. The rector delivered a sermon calling on all the faithful children of the Holy Church to fervently pray for the successful completion of the Council. A special address from the rector has been published below (click on the link to read the English translation). Fr. Serge then honored the youngest altar servers in the parish for their service to Christ and presented icons to them on behalf of the parish.

Въ воскресенье 18го января въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ прошли богослуженiя Навечерiя Крещенiя. По окончанiи Литургiи была отслужена праздничная Вечерня и Великое Освященiе Воды. Послѣ Литургiи представитили прихода встрѣтились съ градоначальникомъ Паскуалъ Менна и съ мѣстными моряками, чтобы обсудить чинъ освященiя рѣки Навасинкъ. Ввиду того, что рѣка замерзла, Архiерей и духовенство смогутъ выйти на ледъ, освятить воду и выпуститъ голубей. On Sunday, January 18th, services for the Eve of Epiphany took place at St. Nicholas Church. After the Divine Liturgy a festive Vespers Service and Great Blessing of the Water took place. Later in the afternoon representatives of the parish met with Red Bank Mayor Pasquale Menna and members of the Red Bank Ice Boat Club to discuss the details of tomorrows blessing of the Navesink River. Because the river is frozen, the bishop and clergy will be able to walk out onto the ice to bless the water and release doves. Краснобреговцы съ большой радостью готовиться къ великому празднику Крещенiя Господня. Какъ и въ прошломъ году, послѣ Литургiи состоится Великое Освященiе воды въ Свято-Николаевскомъ Храмѣ и затѣмъ торжественный Крестный Ходъ до рѣки Навасинкъ, гдѣ состоится освященiе водъ. Въ этомъ году мы ожидаемъ прiѣздъ Епископа Iеронима Манхеттенскаго, который возглавитъ торжества. Въ крестномъ ходѣ примутъ участiе градоначальникъ Краснобрегово Паскуалъ Менна и Кубанскiе Казаки, которые вмѣстѣ съ духовенствомъ поплывутъ на караблѣ по рѣкѣ для освященiя водъ. Мѣстные моряки въ Краснобреговѣ готовятъ особый корабель съ пушками, который будетъ плыть подъ русскимъ флагомъ ради праздника.

With abundant joy, Red Bank parishioners are preparing for the great feast of the Epiphany. Just as last year, after the Liturgy the Great Blessing of the waters will take place in St. Nicholas church, after which there will be a festive procession to the Navesink River, where the blessing of the water will take place. This year, we are expecting His Grace, Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, to lead the festivities. His Honor, Mayor Pasquale Menna, is expected to take part in the procession, along with members of the Kuban Cossacks, who, along with members of the clergy, will take a boat out on the river for the blessing ceremony. Local boatsmen are preparing a special boat with cannons that will fly the Russian flag in honor of the holiday.

13го января, Русская Православная Церковъ отмѣчаетъ 40ой день кончины Святѣйшаго Патрiарха Алексiя. Наканунѣ праздника Обрѣзанiя Господня, въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ была отслужена панихида о новопреставленномъ Великомъ Господинѣ и Отцѣ нашемъ Святѣйшемъ Патрiархѣ Алексiи. Подобно кончинѣ Митрополита Лавра, 40ой день Патрiарха исполняется наканунѣ церковнаго праздника. Траурный перiодъ послѣ кончины Митр. Лавра закончился въ Великiй Четвергъ – дая вѣрующимъ возможность встрѣтить радостно свѣтлый Пасхальный праздникъ. 40ой день патрiарха оказывается послѣднимъ днемъ года – и мы этимъ прощаемся съ 2008 г. и съ трепетомъ и радостью встрѣчаемъ 2009 г. въ праздникъ Обрѣзанiя Господня. Послѣ такой великой всенародной скорби въ прошедшемъ году, православнымъ христiанамъ предстоитъ очень отвѣтственный годъ въ исторiи Русской Православной Церкви, съ избранiемъ новаго Предстоятеля. Да поможетъ намъ Всевышнiй, укрѣпить наши скромныя молитвы объ избранiи новаго Предстоятеля, вѣдь самъ Господь – глава Церкви, и по Его милости Онъ дастъ намъ „Пастыря по сердцу Своему“. Отъ имени настоятеля, клира и издательства поздравляемъ всѣхъ посѣтителей нашей страницы съ праздникомъ Обрѣзанiя Господня и съ новымъ годомъ. On January 13, the Russian Orthodox Church marks the 40th day since the passing of His Holiness, Patriarch Alexey. On the eve of the feastday of the Circumcision of our Lord, a panihida was served in St. George’s church for our newly reposed Great Lord and Father, His Holiness, Patriarch Alexey. Similar to the passing of Metropolitan Laurus, the Patriarch’s 40th day falls on the eve of a church feastday. The mourning period following the repose of Metropolitan Laurus ended on Great Thursday, giving the faithful an opportunity to greet the glorious Paschal holiday with joy. The Patriarch’s 40th day is also the last day of the year – on this note we part ways with 2008, and with trepidation and joy greet 2009 on the feastday of the Circumcision of our Lord. After last year’s great national grief, Orthodox Christians will be met by a year of great responsibility, marked by the election of a new Patriarch. May the Almighty help us to affirm our humble prayers for the election of a new Patriarch, for the Lord Himself is the head of the Church, and by his mercy he will give us a “Pastor according to His heart” (Jer. 3:15). From the rector, the clergy, and the publishing house, we wish all of our visitors a joyous feastday of the Circumcision of our Lord and a Happy New Year, and wish everyone salvation and renewed spiritual strength in the new year.

Кубанское Казачье Войско за Рубежомъ ведетъ переговоры съ Кубанскимъ Казачьимъ Войскомъ на Родинѣ, чтобы начать процессъ передачи подлинныхъ казачьихъ регалій обратно туда, гдѣ онѣ должны въ конечномъ итогѣ находиться. Войско за рубежомъ много лѣтъ являлись хранителями уникальной коллекціи казачьихъ регалій, вывезены изъ Россіи во время коммунистической власти. Коллекція сохраняется въ Кубанскомъ Казачьемъ Музеѣ и постепенно возвращается въ Россію, гдѣ строится новый музей, въ которомъ уже весь міръ сможеть узрѣть эти сокровища. Предлагаемъ посѣтителямъ нашей страницы фотографiи первой встрѣчи зарубежной делегацiи съ Кубанскимъ Войскомъ въ Екатеринодарѣ для подписанiя договора о возвращенiи регалiй. The Kuban Cossack Voisko Abroad has been in negotiations with the Kuban Cossack Voisko in Russia to begin the process of returning authentic cossack regalia to its proper resting place in the homeland. The Voisko abroad are the guardians of a unique collection of Cossack regalia, which was taken out of Russia for protection during the years of communist rule. The collection is stored in the Kuban Cossack Museum and will be slowly returned to Russia, where a new museum is being constructed to house the collection for all the world to see. We would like to offer our visitors photographs from the first meeting of the delegation from America and the Kuban Voisko of Ekaterinodar, during which was signed an agreement on the return of the regalia. Metropolitan Isidor of Ekaterinodar and the Kuban led the divine services during the October 2006 visit. Click here for photos from the first visit.

In the days before the feast of the Nativity, members of the church klir along with cossacks and parishioners completed renovations of the Altar, sacrarium and the priest's living quarters at St. George's Church. Торжества Великаго Праздника Рождества Господа Бога и Спаса Нашего Iисуса Христа начались утромъ 6го января, когда въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ отслужены были Царскiе Часы и праздничная вечерня съ литургiей свят. Василiя Великаго. Вечеромъ, въ Сочельникъ Рождества Христова, настоятеля съ о. Леонидомъ отслужили великое повечерiе со всенощнымъ бдѣнiемъ. 7го января также состоялась Божественная Литургiя при большомъ стеченiи народа. Во время запричастныхъ провозгласили Рождественское Посланiе Высокопреосвященнѣйшаго Митрополита Иларiона, Первоiерарха Русской Зарубежной Церкви. 8го января, во второй день праздника, въ день празднованiя Собора Пресвятой Богородицы, вѣрующiе вернулись въ храмъ чтобы возблагодарить виновницу торжества – Царицу небесную. The festivities of the Great Feastday of the Nativity of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ began on the morning of January 6th, with the serving of the Royal Hours and festive vespers with the Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in St. Nicholas church. At night, on the Eve of the Nativity of Christ, the rector and deacon served the Great Compline with an All-Night Vigil. On January 7th, a Divine Liturgy was served, attended by a great multitude of the faithful. During the communion of the clergy, the Nativity Epistle of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, was proclaimed. On January 8th, the second day of the feast, the day of the Synaxis of the Mother of God, the faithful returned to the church to thank the patroness of the feastday – the heavenly Queen. Въ пятницу 2го января, въ денъ празднованiя 100-лѣтiя со дня кончины Св. Прав. Iоанна Кронштадскаго, Преосвященнѣйшiй Iеронимъ, Епископъ Манхэттенскiй, возглавилъ Божественную Литургiю въ Свято-Николаевскомъ Храмѣ. Его Преосвященству сослужили настоятель храма и дiаконъ Леонидъ. По окончанiи Литургiи отецъ Сергiй привѣтствовалъ новохиротонисаннаго Епископа Манхэттенскаго, впервые прибывшiй въ нашъ храмъ въ архiерейскомъ санѣ, пожелая ему Божiей помощи на новой каѳедрѣ. On Friday, January 2nd, on the centennial anniversary of the repose of St. John of Kronstadt, His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, presided at the Divine Liturgy. Co-serving with His Grace were the rector and Fr. Leonid. After the Liturgy, Fr. Serge greeted the newly ordained bishop, in our church for the first time as a member of the episcopate, and wished God's blessings on his forthcoming service on the cathedra of Manhattan.
