Въ четвергъ 26го февраля, делегацiя изъ Курска посѣтила Свято-Георгiевскiй Храмъ и Казачiй Музей. Делегацiю возглавилъ намѣстникъ Курской Коренной Пустыни, Игуменъ Венiаминъ. У входа въ храмъ, намѣстника встрѣтилъ съ хлѣбомъ и солью Атаманъ кубанскаго казачьяго войска Александръ Певневъ. Затѣмъ настоятель храма отслужилъ молебенъ Св. Великомученику Георгiю и привѣствовалъ отца-намѣстника и членовъ делегацiи. Отъ имени прихода, о. Сергiй преподнесъ каждому члену делегацiи икону Св. Георгiя. Послѣ молебна атаманъ показалъ гостямъ казачiй музей и разсказалъ имъ о жизни кубанскаго казачьяго войска за рубежомъ. Затѣмъ была предложена казачками обильная трапеза, во время котораго участники обмѣнялись привѣтствiями, исторiями и памятными подарками. Нажмите здѣсь для посмотра фотографiй.

On Thursday, February 26th, a delegation from Kursk visited St. George's Church and the Cossack Museum. Heading the delegation was the Father-Superior of the Kursk Root Hermitage, Hegumen Benjamin. At the entrance to the church, the abbot was greeted with the traditional bread and salt by the Ataman of the Kuban Cossack Voisko, Alexander Pewnew. The rector then served a molieben to St. George and welcomed the abbot and the other delegates. On behalf of the parish, Fr. Serge gave to each member of the delegation an icon of St. George. After the molieben, the Ataman showed the guests the Cossack Museum, and told them about the life of the Voisko abroad. The Cossack women then prepared a bountiful dinner, during which everyone exchanged goodwill, personal stories, and small gifts. Click here for pictures.

Въ cреду 18го февраля, въ день памяти иконы Божiей Матери „Взысканiе Погибшихъ", въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ была отслужена Литургiя на Англiйскомъ языкѣ. Литургiю совершилъ Iерей Iоаннъ Моисеевъ, настоятель храма Всѣхъ Святыхъ Американскихъ въ штатѣ Вирджинiя. Въ своей проповѣди, о. Iоаннъ говорилъ о взысканiи погибшихъ, и какъ важно молиться о тѣхъ, кто отошелъ отъ Святой Церкви и христiанской вѣры. Онъ призвалъ вѣрующихъ искать то что есть „едино на потребу" и отложить житейскую суету, особенно въ предверiи Великаго Поста. По окончанiи Литургiи о. настоятель привѣтствовалъ дорогого гостя и поблагодарилъ его за святыя молитвы въ нашемъ храмѣ. Нажмите здѣсь для посмотра фотографiй.

On Wednesday, February 18th, on the day of the icon of the Mother of God "Seeker of the Lost," an English liturgy was served in St. George's Church. Fr. John Moses, rector of All Saints of America Church in Middlebrook, Virginia, lead the Liturgy. In his sermon, Fr. John spoke of seeking the lost, and how important it is to pray for those who have fallen away from the Holy Church and the Christian faith. He called the faithful to put away earthly worries and temptations, and to search for the "one thing needful." Upon completion of the Liturgy, the rector greeted the honored guest and thanked him for his holy prayers in our church. Click here for photographs.

On the week of February 8th, work began on the reconstruction of the parish hall next to St. George's church. Members of the parish brotherhood worked with the cossacks on this project for the glory of God. Click here for photographs of the first phase of reconstruction.

Въ воскресенье 15 февраля, въ двунадесятый праздникъ Срѣтенія Господня, въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ былъ отслуженъ акаѳистъ иконѣ Божіей Матери „Азъ есмь съ вами и никтоже на вы," затѣмъ Божественная Литургiя. По заамвонной молитвѣ, о. Сергій освятилъ новую утварь, пожертвованная для Свято-Георгіевскаго храма. Послѣ короткой трапезы, въ приходскомъ залѣ состоялось Общее годовое собраніе прихода. При открытіи Собранія, отецъ діаконъ провозгласилъ Вѣчную Память Святѣйшему Патріарху Алексію, всѣмъ первоіерархамъ РПЦЗ, архипастырямъ Восточно-американской епархіи, и всѣмъ усопшимъ настоятелямъ и прихожанамъ нашего храма. Затѣмъ, настоятель выступилъ съ докладомъ о церковно-приходской жизни и о всѣхъ прекрасныхъ торжествахъ и великихъ событій, происшедшихъ за 2008 г.

Послѣ доклада старосты и финансоваго отчета, состоялись выборы Церковно-приходского совѣта. Избраны были чт. Петръ Лукьяновъ, чт. Григорій Левитскій, Мат. Маргарита Рожкова, Василій Васильевичъ Кобашъ, Елизавета Ясыкъ и Александра Романовская. Общее собраніе также одобрило открытіе Свято-Николаевскаго фонда, подъ предсѣдательствомъ Діакона Леонида. Также были утверждены делегаты на Епархіальное собраніе чт. Петръ Лукьяновъ и староста Николай Евгеньевичъ Бурбело. По закрытіи Собранія, сестры провели собраніе Сестричества, на которомъ избрали Мат. Любовь Лукьянову старшей сестрой и Елизавету Ясыкъ казначеемъ. Нажмите здѣсь для фотографiи праздника и собранiя.

On Sunday, February 15, 2009, on the Great Feast of the Presentation of our Lord, an akathist to the icon of the Mother of God "I am with you and no one shall be against you" was served in St. Nicholas Church, followed by the Divine Liturgy. At the end of the Liturgy, Fr. Serge blessed new church vessels, donated for use at St. George's Church. After a short luncheon, the General Parish Meeting was held in the church hall. Upon the opening of the meeting, the deacon proclaimed Memory Eternal to His Holiness, Patriarch Alexey, all of the First Hierarchs of ROCOR and archpastors of the Eastern American Diocese, and all of the reposed rectors and parishioners of our church. The rector then delivered his annual report, elaborating on parish life and detailing the many wonderful feastdays and great events that transpired in 2008.

After the warden's and financial reports, elections were held for the members of the Parish Council. Reader Peter Lukianov, Reader Gregory Levitsky, Matushka Margarita Roschko, William J. Kobasz, Elizabeth Yasuk, and Alexandra Romanovsky. The General Meeting also approved the opening of the St. Nicholas Foundation, which is to be chaired by Fr. Leonid. Reader Peter Lukianov and Warden Nicholas Burbelo were chosen as delegates to the Diocesan Council. Upon the conclusion of the Meeting, the parish sisters held a meeting of the Sisterhood, electing Matushka Lubov Lukianov as Elder Sister and Elizabeth Yasuk as treasurer. Въ воскресенье 8го февраля, въ праздникъ Святыхъ Новомучениковъ и Исповѣдниковъ Россiйскихъ въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ была отслужена божественная литургiя, а наканунѣ праздника всенощная была въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ. Передъ началомъ литургiи состоялся акаөистъ Святому Царю-Мученику Николаю передъ мощами святыхъ царственныхъ мучениковъ и иконой новомучениковъ. Въ своей проповѣди, о. Сергiй объяснилъ причту о Мытарѣ и Фарисеѣ и разсказалъ о важности почитанiя свв. новомучениковъ, особенно въ это время возрожденiя Россiи. Онъ призвалъ вѣрующихъ укрѣпить вѣру и преданность ко Господу и святому Православiю, какъ дѣлали это свв. новомученики.

Послѣ литургiи настоятель поздравилъ секретаря церковно-приходского совѣта чт. Григорiя съ днемъ ангела, и преподнесъ ему икону Свв. Петра и Павла въ благодарность за всѣ его труды на благо Святой Церкви. Затѣмъ въ католическомъ залѣ храма Рождества Христова, прихожане собрались на традицiоные блины. Градоначальникъ Паскуалъ Менна и представители городской власти также прiѣхали чтобы поддержать нашъ приходъ и раздѣлить съ нами масленитцу. Передъ обѣдомъ наши дѣтки и молодежь представили русскiе народные танцы на радость всѣмъ присутствующимъ. February 9th, 2009
On Sunday, February 8th, on the feastday of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, a Divine Liturgy was served in St. Nicholas Church, while on the feast's eve an All-Night Vigil was served in St. George's Church. Before the beginning of the Liturgy, an akathist was served to St. Tsar-Martyr Nicholas before the relics of the Royal Martyrs and the icon of the New Martyrs. In his sermon, Fr. Serge expounded upon the parable of the Publican and the Pharisee and explained the importance of honoring the New Martyrs, especially in this time of Russia's revival. He called upon the faithful to fortify their faith in and commitment to the Lord and Holy Orthodoxy, as the holy New Martyrs did.

After the Liturgy, the rector congratulated the secretary of the parish council, Reader Gregory, with his namesday, and gifted him an icon of Sts. Peter & Paul in gratitude for all of his efforts on behalf of the Holy Church. Afterwards, in the parish hall of the Catholic Church of the Nativity, parishioners gathered for a traditional blini dinner. Red Bank Mayor Pasquale Menna, along with representatives of the municipal government, also made an appearance in support of our parish and to share in the festivities. Before lunch began, our children and youth performed Russian folk dances to the delight of those present. Въ воскресенье 1го февраля, когда въ Москвѣ состояласъ интронизація Святѣйшаго Патріарха Кvрилла, въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ молились о новомъ Предстоятелѣ. Во время запричастныхъ провозгласили посланіе Помѣстнаго Собора всѣмъ вѣрнымъ чадамъ Русской Православной Церкви. Въ своей проповѣди о. Сергій разсказалъ о Евангельскомъ чтеніи и затѣмъ объяснилъ вѣрующимъ важность Помѣстнаго Собора и послушанiя Святой Церкви. Настоятель подчеркнулъ, что главная тѣма посланія Собора - единенiе и спасеніе душъ человѣчискихъ. Послѣ проповѣди былъ отслуженъ благодарственный молебенъ и отецъ діаконъ Леонидъ провозгласилъ многолѣтіе Святѣйшему Патріарху Кvриллу.

On Sunday, February 1st, while the Enthronement of the His Holiness, Patriarch Kyrill, was taking place in Moscow, in St. Nicholas church prayers were offered on behalf of the new Patriarch. Before Holy Communion, the Epistle of the Local Council to the faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church was read from the ambo. In his sermon, Fr. Serge spoke about the Gospel reading, further explaining to the faithful the importance of the Local Council and of obedience to the Holy Church. The rector emphasized that the most important theme of the Epistle is unity, and the salvation of human souls. After the sermon, a thanksgiving moleben was served, after which Deacon Leonid proclaimed "many years" to His Holiness.
