Въ воскресенье 28го декабря, въ недѣлю Свв. Праотецъ, по оканчанiи Литургiи настоятель чествовалъ чт. Нектарiя Лукьянова, поздравляя его съ первой годовщиной назначенiя на постъ регента. Отецъ Сергiй поблагодарилъ брата-регента за его безчисленные труды и преданность Св. Христовой Церкви. Отецъ настоятель также чествовалъ старшую прихожанку Марiю Iоакимовну Рожкову по случаю ея дня рожденья и выздоравлеванiя послѣ тяжкой болѣзни. Еще чествовали Алексѣя Михайловича Сливчука, тенора приходского хора. Алексѣй Михайловичъ возвращается на свою Родину въ Черновицкую и Буковинскую Епархiю (УПЦ-МП), гдѣ служитъ его отецъ, Митрофорный Протоiерей Михаилъ Сливчукъ, благочинный Заставновскаго благочинiя. On Sunday, December 28th, on the Sunday of the Holy Forefathers, the rector honored Reader Nektary Lukianov after the Divine Liturgy, congratulating him with the first anniversary of his appointment at choir director. Fr. Serge thanked Nektary for his boundless efforts on behalf of, and loyalty to, Christ's Church. The rector also honored our elder parishioner, Maria J. Roschko, on the occasion of her birthday, and return after a long period of illness. Lastly, Alexey M. Slivchuk was honored; Alexey has been our parish choir's tenor for almost a year. Alexey will be returning to his homeland of Ukraine, where his father, the Mitred Archpriest Michael Slivchuk, serves as the dean of the Zastanovsky Deanery. Въ пятницу 19го декабря, въ Свято-Николаевскомъ Храмѣ прихожане отмѣчали престольный праздникъ Святителя Николая Чудотворца. До Литургiи настоятель съ отцомъ дiакономъ совершили чинъ малаго освященiя воды. Торжественную Литургiю возглавилъ о. Сергiй въ сослуженiи Прот. Филиппа Петровскаго, Iерея Сергiя Ледковскаго и о. Леонида. Не смотря на то, что въ этотъ день выпалъ снѣгъ, вѣрующiе наполнили храмъ, чтобы возблагодарить своего небеснаго покровителя. Послѣ Литургiи сестричество угостило всѣхъ горячей постной трапезой, за которой гости привѣтствовали отца настоятеля и прихожанъ Свято-Николаевскаго Прихода. On Friday, December 19th, the parishioners of St. Nicholas Church honored the memory of their patron saint, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Before the Divine Liturgy, Fr. Serge and Fr. Leonid performed the lesser blessing of the water. The Liturgy was led by Fr. Serge, along with Fr. Philip Petrovsky, Fr. Serge Ledkovsky, and Fr. Leonid. Regardless of the snowy weather, the church was filled with parishioners who came to thank St. Nicholas for his protection of our parish. After the Liturgy, the sisterhood prepared a delicious Lenten meal for all the parishioners and guests. Click here for pictures and video from the parish feastday.

Въ Свято-Николаевскомъ Храмѣ проходитъ особая недѣля, вдохновенная благодатью и Божiей милостью. 17го декабря, въ день памяти Святой Великомученицы Варвары, была отслужена Божественная Литургiя Iеромонахомъ Евтvхiемъ и Дiакономъ Леонидомъ. На слѣдующiй день православная церковь празднуетъ память Великаго угодника Божiя, иже во святыхъ отца нашего Преподобнаго Саввы Освященнаго, и въ этотъ день настоятель съ дiакономъ отслужили Литургiю. Вѣрующiе, которые присутствовали на эти буднія службы, сподобились почувствовать особый и молитвенный духъ во время братскихъ обѣдовъ, за которымъ читались житiя святыхъ. Этотъ благодатный духъ подготовилъ прихожанъ къ встрѣчѣ великаго праздника Святителя Николая, въ честь котораго освященъ сей храмъ. 18го декабря, когда вѣрующiе снова вернулись въ святой храмъ, хотя и многiе устали, они почуствовали этотъ праздничный духъ, который вдохновилъ всѣхъ для всенощнаго бдѣнiя. Всенощную отслужилъ Iерей Сергiй Ледковскiй изъ Свято-Владимiрcкаго Храма въ сослуженiи Дiакона Леонида, подъ пѣнiемъ приходского мужского хора. St. Nicholas parish is in the middle of a very special week, full of God's grace and mercy. On December 17th, the feastday of the Great Martyr St. Barbara, Hieromonk Evtihiy and Deacon Leonid served a Divine Liturgy in the church. On the following day, when the Church celebrates the memory of the great saint, Blessed Sabbas the Sanctified, the rector and deacon served a liturgy. The faithful gathered at the service also took the opportunity to take in the special and prayerful spirit of the brotherly luncheons, during which the Lives of the Saints were read. This abundant spirit prepared the parishioners to greet the great feastday of St. Nicholas, in whose name the church was dedicated. On December 18th, when the faithful again returned to church despite many being tired, they felt that wonderful festive spirit, which inspired prayer and an eagerness for the All-Night Vigil. The vigil was served by Fr. Serge Ledkovsky from our neighboring parish of St. Vladimir in Jackson, alongside Fr. Leonid and to the singing off the parish's male choir. REGALIA TO BE RETURNED
The 39^th Assembly of the Kuban Cossack Army was held in the town of Howell, New Jersey.
     Approximately seventy people gathered in the Cossack museum to determine the sole question on the day’s agenda – the military council elections. Guests from Russia attended the assembly, as well; the vice-ataman of the Kuban Cossacks, Konstantin Perenizhko, and the territory chief of Cossack affairs, Oleg Ratushniak. Pursuant to recent agreements, they delivered copies of a decree of Tsar Alexander I and three military banners to the diasporan Cossacks. This is only the first installment.

     The assembly, concluding that the work of the incumbent members in the preceding term had been satisfactory, came to the decision to leave the incumbents in place for an additional term. In addition, the diasporan Cossacks approved a measure to continue the process of returning the regalia stored in the museum to its historic homeland.

РЕГАЛIИ ВОЗРАЩАЮТСЯ
Въ городѣ Хауэллѣ прошелъ 39-й сборъ Кубанскаго Казачьяго Войска за Рубежомъ.
Около семидесяти человекъ собрались въ музее казачества, чтобы обсудить единственный вопросъ повестки дня - выборы войсковаго совѣта. На сборе присутствовали и гости изъ Россiи: замѣститель атамана ККВ Константинъ Перенижко и начальникъ краевого департамента по деламъ казачества Олегъ Ратушнякъ. Въ рамкахъ заключенного договора они передали казакамъ зарубежья копiи грамоты Александра Перваго и трехъ знаменъ. Это только первая партiя.

     По итогамъ сбора работа прежнего состава войскового совѣта была признана удовлетворительной и принято решенiе оставить его членовъ въ прежнемъ составе на очередной срокъ. Кроме того, казаки зарубежья одобрили намеренiе продолжить процедуру по возращенiю регалiй на ихъ историческую родину.

Въ среду 10го декабря настоятель Прот. Сергiй и Iеромонахъ Евтvхiй съ группой прихожанъ посѣтили Синодальный Знаменскiй Соборъ для участiя въ праздникѣ Иконы Божiей Матери Курской Коренной. Во время Литургiи состоялась архiерейская хиротонiя Архимандрита Iеронима (Шо) во епископа Манхэттенскаго. Хиротонiю совершили Епископы Монреальскiй и Канадскiй Гаврiилъ, Кливлендскiй Петръ, Каракасскiй Iоаннъ и Мейфилдскiй Георгiй. Новохиротонисанный Епископъ Iеронимъ посѣтитъ Свято-Николаевскiй Храмъ въ субботу 20го и воскресенье 21го декабря, чтобы возглавить богослуженiя по случаю престольнаго праздника. Редакцiя сердечно поздравляетъ Епископа Iеронима съ архiерейской хиротонiи. АКСIОСЪ, АКСIОСЪ, АКСIОСЪ!!!
Въ субботу 13го декабря Iеромонахъ Евтvхiй съ чтецомъ Нектарiемъ и А.В. Россъ представили наши приходы на престольномъ праздникѣ въ Свято-Андреевскомъ Соборѣ въ Филадельфiи. Литургiю возглавилъ настоятель собора Митрофорный Протоiерей Маркъ Шиннъ въ сослуженiи собора духовенства Московской Патрiархiи и Зарубежной Церкви. On Wednesday, December 10th, the rector, Fr. Serge Lukianov, and Hieromonk Evtihiy, along with a group of parishioners, attended the Synodal Cathedral to partake in the feastday of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. During the liturgy, Bishops Gabriel of Montreal and Canada, along with Bishop Peter of Cleveland, John of Caracas, and George of Mayfield, performed the ordination of Archimandrite Jerome Shaw to bishop. Bishop Jerome will be the Bishop of Manhattan. The newly ordained Bishop Jerome will visit St. Nicholas church on Saturday, December 20th, and Sunday, December 21st, to head the services on our parish feastday. The editors offer their glad and heartfelt congratulations to His Grace, Bishop Jerome, on the occasion of his ordination. AXIOS, AXIOS, AXIOS!!!
On Saturday, December 13th, Hieromonk Evtihiy, along with Reader Nektary and A.V. Ross, represented our parishes at the parish feastday of St. Andrew's Cathedral in Philadelphia. The Divine Liturgy was headed by the rector of the cathedral, Mitered Archpriest Mark Shinn, along with clergy from the Moscow Patriarchate and the Church Abroad. At the end of the liturgy there was a festive luncheon, at which a montage of the life and service of His Holiness, Patriarch Alexy, was presented. Click here for photographs.

Въ воскресенье 14го декабря, въ день памяти св. Филарета Милостиваго, въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ была отслужена панихида о новопреставленномъ Святѣйшемъ Патрiархѣ Алексiи и о приснопамятныхъ Митр. Филаретѣ и Митр. Лаврѣ. По окончанiи Литургiи настоятель произнесъ трогательную проповѣдь о новопреставленномъ Патрiархѣ и о Митр. Филаретѣ по случаю его тезоименитства. Во время цѣлованiя креста вѣрующимъ раздавали портреты Патрiарха Алексiя, приготовленные Издательствомъ Преп. Сергiя. On Sunday, December 14th, on the day of St. Philaret the Merciful, a panihida for the newly reposed Patriarch Alexy and the ever-memorable Metropolitans Philaret and Laurus was served at St. Nicholas Church. After the Liturgy, the rector delivered a moving sermon about the newly departed patriarch and Met. Philaret, on the event of his namesday. During the veneration of the cross, photographs of Patriarch Alexy, prepared by the St. Sergius Publishing House, were handed out to the faithful. May the Lord grant eternal memory to Patriarch Alexy and Metropolitan Philaret! Click here for photographs.

Въ субботу 6го декабря, въ день памяти Свят. Митрофана Воронежскаго, настоятель возглавилъ делегацiю отъ нашего прихода въ Свято-Серафимовскiй Храмъ въ Си-Клифѣ для участiя въ заупокойной Литургiи. За Литургiей, которую возглавилъ Митрополитъ Иларiонъ, возносились молитвы о новопреставленномъ Святѣйшемъ Патрiархѣ Алексiи и приснопамятномъ Епископѣ Митрофанѣ. Послѣ трапезы делегацiя отправилась въ Свято-Троицкiй Монастырь для участiя въ Архiерейской Хиротонiи Архимандрита Георгiя (Шейфера) во епископа Богоспасаемаго града Мэйфилда. Хиротонiю cовершили Епископы Монреальскiй и Канадскiй Гаврiилъ, Кливлендскiй Петръ и Каракасскiй Iоаннъ при стеченiи множества духовенства и вѣрующихъ. On Saturday, December 6th, on the day of St. Mitrophan of Voronezh, the rector led a small delegation from our parish to St. Seraphim's Church in Sea Cliff, NY, to participate in a Divine Liturgy for the Departed. During the Liturgy, which was led by Metropolitan Hilarion, the late Patriarch Alexy and Bishop Mitrophan were commemorated. After the luncheon, the delegation traveled to Holy Trinity Monastery to participate in the ordination of Archimandrite George (Schaeffer) to Bishop of the God-protected city of Mayfield. The ordination was performed by Bishops Gabriel of Montreal and Canada, Peter of Cleveland and John of Caracas, along with many clergymen and faithful. Въ воскресенье 30го ноября, Выскопреосвященнѣйшiй Митрополитъ Иларiонъ посѣтилъ Свято-Николаевскiй Приходъ и встрѣтился съ клиромъ въ резеденцiи настоятеля. Послѣ краткаго молебна въ часовнѣ Свят. Нектарiя, сотрудники Издательства Преп. Сергiя Радонежскаго представили Первоiерарху монтажъ съ торжества Свв. Царственныхъ Мучениковъ. Митрополитъ Иларiонъ былъ глубоко тронутъ представленiемъ и благодарилъ членовъ издательства, и тоже благословилъ рядъ проектовъ на 2009-й годъ. Митрополитъ также назначилъ Прот. Сергiя Лукьянова настоятелемъ Свято-Георгiевскаго Храма въ Фривудъ-Эйкерсъ и назначилъ Iеромонаха Евтvхiя вторымъ священникомъ, чтобы помогать отцу-настоятелю обслуживать два прихода. По просьбѣ Кубанской Казачьей Станицы, отецъ Сергiй также былъ назначенъ войсковымъ священникомъ станицы. Послѣ обильнаго ужина Первоiерархъ вернулся въ свою резеденцiю въ Синодѣ.

On Sunday, November 30th, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion visited St. Nicholas Parish to meet with the parish clergy at the rector's residence. After a short moleben in the chapel of St. Nektary, members of the St. Sergius Publishing House presented the montage dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of the death of the Royal Martyrs to the Metropolitan. His Eminence was deeply moved, and thanked the publishing house, as well as gave His blessing for a group of projects to be completed in 2009. The Metropolitan then assigned Fr. Serge Lukianov rector of St. George's Church in Freewood Acres and assigned Fr. Eutychius to our parish to help Fr. Serge care for the two churches. As per the request of the Kuban Cossacks, Fr. Serge was also assigned as spiritual advisor to the local Kuban Cossack Regiment. After a plentiful dinner, His Eminence returned to his residence in the Synod.

5-го декабря, въ день подпразднства Введенiя во Храмъ Пресвятой Богородицы, отошелъ ко Господу Святѣйшiй Патрiархъ Московскiй и Всея Руси Алексѣй II. Осиротѣвшiя чада Русской Православной Церкви по всему мiру скорбятъ о потерѣ своего любимаго отца и архипастыря. Въ часовнѣ у резиденцiи настоятеля будетъ отлужена панихида сегодня въ 19:00 ч.

December 5/November 22
On December 5th, the Afterfeast of the Entry of the Holy Theotokos Into the Temple, His Holiness, Patriarch Alexis II of Moscow and All-Russia, fell asleep in the Lord. The newly orphaned faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church are mourning throughout the world over the loss of their beloved father and archpastor. A panikhida will be served tonight in the chapel of the rectory at 7:00PM.
