26 апрѣля 2009 г. – Недѣля Ѳомино
Въ недѣлю Ѳомино, въ Свято-Іоанно-Предтеченской казачьей кладбищенской часовнѣ, совершилъ Божественную Литургію настоятель часовни протоіерей Сергій въ сослуженіи Діакона Леонида. Снова радостное пасхальное пѣніе прозвучало по Свято-Владимірскому кладбищу, порадуя не только всѣхъ богомольцевъ, но и даже согрѣвая сердца нашихъ усопшихъ сродниковъ и близкихъ. Послѣ Литургіи о. Сергій, въ присутствіи казаковъ, во главѣ съ атаманомъ Кубанскаго казачьяго войска Александромъ Певневымъ, совершилъ традиціонную общую панихиду у казачьяго памятника. Во время панихиды, о. Сергій помянулъ создателя часовни Архіепископа Никона, всѣхъ настолятелей часовни, августѣйшихъ атамановъ, казаковъ и казачекъ, всѣхъ на полѣ брани жизнь свою положившихъ за вѣру, царя и отечество и всѣхъ въ тюрмахъ и лагеряхъ умученныхъ и убіенныхъ. Затѣмъ о. Сергій съ другимъ духовенствомъ нашего благочинія отслужилъ личныя панихиды у памятниковъ усопшихъ. Слѣдующее богослуженіе въ Свято-Іоанно-Предтеченской часовнѣ состоится 31го мая, когда совершится служба въ воспоминаніе казаковъ, убіенныхъ въ 1945 г. при городѣ Ліенцѣ въ Австріи, а затѣмъ 6го іюня, въ Троицую родительскую субботу. April 26, 2009 – Thomas Sunday
On Thomas Sunday, in the Cossack Cemetery Chapel of St. John the Forerunner, the chapel’s rector, Archpriest Serge, served a Divine Liturgy alongside Deacon Leonid. Once more the joyful Paschal singing was heard throughout St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, gladdening not only all of the faithful, but also warming the hearts of our departed loved ones. After the Liturgy, Fr. Serge, in the presence of the Cossacks, who were headed by the Ataman of the Kuban Cossack Voisko Alexander Pewnew, served the traditional general panihida at the Cossack memorial. During the panihida, Fr. Serge commemorated the founder of the chapel, Archbishop Nikon, all of the rectors of the chapel, the Most August Atamen, Cossacks, all those who laid down their lives on the field of battle for the Faith, the Tsar, and the Fatherland, and all those who perished and suffered in prisons and camps. Fr. Serge and other clergy of our Deanery then served personal panihidas at the graves of the departed. The next service at the Chapel of St. John the Forerunner will be on May 31, in honor of the Cossacks killed in 1945 at Lienz, Austria, and then June 6, on Pentecost Soul Saturday. 25 апрѣля 2009 г. - Свѣтлая Суббота
     Въ Свѣтлую Субботу, делегація прихожанъ нашихъ приходовъ, во главѣ съ настоятелемъ и отцомъ діакономъ, посѣтила Свято-Николаевскій соборъ Московскаго Патріархата въ Нью-Іоркѣ, чтобы принимать участіе въ торжественномъ совмѣстномъ богослуженіи, уже ставшемъ ежегоднымъ празднованіемъ возсоединенія двухъ частей Русской православной церкви.
     Служба была возглавлена Преосвященнѣйшимъ Епископомъ Зарайскимъ Меркуріемъ, Управляющій Патріаршими приходами въ США. Солужили Епископу Меркурію Епископъ Кливлендскій Петръ, Епископъ Сіэттлійскій Ѳеодосій и Епископъ Манхеттенскій Іеронимъ. Служба являлась для Владыки послѣдней на этомъ посту, по случаю его назначенія Священнымъ Синодомъ РПЦ-МП стать предсѣдателемъ Синодальнаго отдѣла по религіозному образованію и катехизаціи Московскаго Патріархата. Послѣ Божественной Литургіи велся по улицамъ великаго града крестный ходъ, во главѣ съ чудотворной Курской-коренной иконой Божіей Матери.
     Состоялся также праздничный пріемъ въ Генеральномъ консульствѣ Россійской Федераціи, гдѣ Генеральный консулъ С.В. Гармонинъ и Постоянный представитель РФ при ООН В.И. Чуркинъ поздравили всѣхъ со свѣтлымъ праздникомъ Воскресенія Христова и поблагодарили Епископа Меркурія за его многолѣтній трудъ въ Америкѣ.
     По окончаніи пріема, прихожане вернулись въ Краснобрегово на всенощную въ Ѳомино воскресенье, которая началась съ раздробленіемъ артоса и закрытіемъ царскихъ вратъ и діаконскихъ дверей. April 25, 2009 - Bright Saturday
     On Bright Saturday, a delegation of parishioners, headed by the rector and deacon, visited St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City to take part in the triumphal divine services, co-served by clerics of both the Church Abroad and the Moscow Patriarchate, in what has become an annual celebration of the Reunification of the Russian Church.
     The service was led by His Grace, Bishop Mercury of Zaraisk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States. Serving with Vladyka were Bishop Peter of Cleveland, Bishop Theodosius of Seattle, and Bishop Jerome of Manhattan. The service will be the last for His Grace, who has been reassigned by the Holy Synod of the MP to the post of Chairman of the Synodal Department for Religious Education and Catechism of the Moscow Patriarchate. After the Divine Liturgy, a procession was held through the streets of New York, led by the miraculous Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God.
     A festive reception was also held at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation, where Consul General S.V. Garmonin and Permanent Representative of the RF to the United Nations V.I. Churkin congratulated everybody with the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord and thanked Bishop Mercury for his years of service in America.
     At the end of the reception, parishioners returned to Red Bank for the Vigil on Thomas Sunday, which began with the breaking of the Easter Bread (artos) and the closing of the royal and deacons’ doors. Въ воскресенье 26го апрѣля, Божественная Литургiя будетъ отслужена въ Казачьей часовнѣ на Св. Владимiрскомъ кладбищѣ въ Джексонѣ. Эта Литургiя на кладбищѣ въ недѣлю Ѳомино, служится много лѣтъ настоятелями Св. Георгiевскаго храма, и въ этомъ году о. Сергiй въ сослуженiи о. Леонида продолжатъ эту традицiю. Начало Литургiи въ 10:00 ч., а затѣмъ общая панихида въ 12:00 ч. по всѣмъ казакамъ и усопшимъ братiямъ и сестрамъ. Въ воскресенье 31го мая, будетъ также отслужена панихида у часовни въ связи съ воспоминанiемъ Казачьей Голгоѳы въ Лiенцѣ. „Перваго iюня 1945 года въ 'Долинѣ Смерти', рядомъ съ австрiйскимъ городомъ Лiенцъ, на основѣ Ялтинскаго соглашенiя англiйское командованiе насильственно передало въ руки совѣтскаго НКВД около 70 тысячъ казаковъ 'Казачьяго Стана', включая стариковъ, женщинъ и дѣтей, тѣмъ самымъ обрекая ихъ на смерть въ лагеряхъ Урала и Сибири“. CHRIST IS RISEN!!!
On Sunday, April 26th, a Divine Liturgy will be served in the Cossack chapel at St. Vladimir's cemetery in Jackson, NJ. This is the Thomas Sunday Liturgy, and has been served at the cemetery by the rectors of St. George's Church for many years; happily, this year Fr. Serge and Fr. Leonid will be continuing the tradition. The Liturgy will start at 10:00 AM, and at 12:00 noon a general panikhida will be served for all of the cossacks and our departed brothers and sisters. On Sunday, May 31, a panikhida will also be served at the chapel, in memory of the Cossack Golgotha in Lienz, Austria. "On the first of June, 1945, in the 'Valley of Death' by the Austrian city of Lienz, the British Command, in accordance with the Yalta Conference, forcibly handed over approximately seventy thousand Cossacks of the 'Cossack Stan' to the NKVD, including the elderly, women, and children, thereby sentencing them to death in the camps of the Urals and Siberia." We will soon be publishing further information about these tragic events on our site.

Въ Свѣтлый понедѣльникъ была отслужена пасхальная утреня и торжественная Литургiя въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ при большемъ стеченiи богомольцевъ. Въ концѣ Литургiи прихожане совершили крестный ходъ, а затѣмъ для дѣтей было устроено катанiе яицъ. Въ казачьемъ залѣ была устроена обильная праздничная трапеза, за которой были приготовлены особыя пасхальныя блюда, вклучая знаменитый греческiй шашлыкъ и куличъ, приготовленный ктиторомъ Iоанномъ и супругою его Валентиною. April 20, 2009 - Bright Monday
CHRIST IS RISEN!!!
On Bright Monday, the Paschal matins and festive Liturgy was served in St. George's Church, attended by a large body of the faithful. At the end of the Liturgy, parishioners performed a procession around the church, after which an egg hunt was held for the children. In the Cossack hall, a bountiful feast was held, including famous Greek souvlaki shish-kabob and kulich, prepared by our warden John Rimakis and his wife Valetina. Въ день Святой Пасхи была отслужена Пасхальная Великая Вечерня въ 13:00 ч. въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ. Послѣ торжественной вечерни былъ устроенъ прiемъ для всего прихода въ резеденцiи отца настоятеля. On the great feast of Pascha, the Paschal Great Vespers service was served in St. George's Church at 1:00 PM. After the service, a festive luncheon for parishioners was held in the rector's residence. ХРИСТОСЪ ВОСКРЕСЕ!!!
Въ пасхальное утро настоятель съ о. діакономъ отслужили торжественную пасхальную заутреню и Литургію въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ. Храмъ былъ наполненъ до отказа богомольцами, которые пришли отмѣтить праздникъ праздниковъ – Святое Христово Воскресеніе. Праздничное пѣніе и колокольный звонъ прозвучали по улицамъ Краснобрегово, возвѣщая всему городу, что воистину Христосъ воскресъ изъ мертвыхъ и попралъ смертную силу. Во время запричестныхъ провозгласили пасхальное посланіе Святѣйшаго Патріарха Кvрилла и Высокопреосвященнѣйшаго Митрополита Иларіона. Послѣ литургіи о. Сергій освятилъ куличи и брашно для вѣрующихъ и затѣмъ поздравилъ всѣхъ съ праздникомъ. April 19, 2009 - Pascha
CHRIST IS RISEN!!!
In the early Paschal morning, the rector along with the deacon celebrated the festive paschal matins and Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas Church. The church was filled to the brim with the faithful, who came to celebrate the feast of feasts – the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The festive singing and peal of the bells rang out through the streets of Red Bank, proclaiming to all that indeed Christ has risen from the dead and trampled upon death. During the communion of the clergy the paschal epistle of His Holiness Patriarch Kyrill and Metropolitan Hilarion was read from the ambo. Upon completion of the liturgy Fr. Serge blessed the kulich baskets for the faithful and then congratulated everyone with the feast. On behalf of the rector, parish clergy, church council and ataman of the Kuban Cossack Voisko, the editors of the official website of St. Nicholas and St. George’s Churches congratulate our readers with the great feast of Holy Pascha! Въ эту преблагословенную субботу, была отслужена Божественная Литургiя въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ. Молодежь прихода читала паримiи, т.е. чтенiя изъ Ветхаго Завѣта, перечисляющiя исторiю человѣческаго спасенiя и предвозвѣщающiя о пришествiи и жизни Спасителя. Во время чтенiя Апостола, совершалось переоблаченiе храма, изъ темнаго, траурнаго свѣта въ свѣтлыя, бѣлыя пасхальныя облаченiя. Чувствовался особенный духъ первыхъ христiанскихъ вѣковъ, когда всѣ присутствующiе причащались вмѣстѣ у Святой Чаши. Въ своей проповѣди, отецъ настоятель велѣлъ всѣмъ богомольцамъ въ тишинѣ и спокойствiи провести остатокъ дня до торжественной Пасхальной Литургiи. April 18, 2009 - Great Saturday
On this most blessed Sabbath, a Divine Liturgy was served in St. Nicholas Church. The parish youth read readings from the Old Testment, outlining the history of our salvation and foretelling about the coming and life of the Savior. During the reading of the Epistle, the vestments were changed from the dark, mournful black of Great Lent to the joyous white vestments of Pascha. The spirit of the earliest centuries of Christianity was palpable as everyone in attendance partook of Holy Communion together. In his sermon, the rector charged all of the faithful to spend the rest of the day in peace and quiet, until the triumphant Pascha Liturgy at night. Click here for photographs of Great Saturday.

17 апрѣля 2009 г. - Великiй Пятокъ
Великій Пятокъ - изъ всѣхъ дней Страстной седмицы, именно въ этотъ день слово „великій“ имѣетъ особое значеніе. День страсти, день покаянія, день состраданія - день всемірной тишины, когда вся тварь плачетъ. Въ этотъ тяжелый для каждаго христіанина день, богомольцы собралисъ на царскіе часы передъ святымъ Распятіемъ въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ чтобы еще разъ услышать Св. Евангеліе о страданіи нашего Спасителя. Въ 12:00 прозвучала благовѣсть по улицамъ Краснобрегово, обозначая что начинается вечерня и скоро вынесутъ тѣло Спасителя на Святой плащаницѣ. Діаконъ прочиталъ послѣднее чтеніе о святыхъ страстяхъ, послѣ чего настоятель вынесь тѣло Іисуса, пока вѣрующіе стояли на колѣняхъ и хоръ пѣлъ „Благообразный Іосифъ“. Послѣ проповѣди о. Сергій исповѣдовалъ каждаго прихожанина на плащаницѣ.
Въ тотъ же вечеръ богомольцы вернулись въ Свято-Георгіевскій храмъ на утреню съ чиномъ погребенія Спасителя. Въ серединѣ храма лежала уникальная царская русская плащаница окружена многими цвѣтами. Запахъ ладана, и тихое антифоное пѣніе, создало неописуемую молитвенную атмосферу. Во время канона вѣрующіе въ первые въ этомъ году, услышали радостныя слова кондака „Сія суббота есть преблагословенная, въ нейже Христосъ уснувъ, воскреснетъ тридневенъ.“ Эти слова благовѣствуютъ вѣрнымъ, что мы стоимъ на порогѣ Свѣтлаго Воскресенія Христова. Погребеніе завершилось крестнымъ ходомъ и чтеніемъ перваго Евангелія о Воскресеніи, когда жены-мvроносицы пришли ко гробу и тамъ встрѣтилъ ихъ ангелъ, благовѣствуя имъ пасхальную радость. April 17, 2009 - Great Friday
Great Friday - of all the days of Passion week, this is the day when the prefix “great” has the most meaning. This is a day of passion, a day of repentance, a day of co-suffering - a day of silence while the world mourns the death of Jesus Christ. On this particularly difficult day for all Christians, the faithful gathered for the Royal Hours in front of the holy Crucifix in St. Nicholas Church, to once again hear the Holy Passion Gospels. At 12 o’clock noon, the solemn toll of the bell rang out across Red Bank, signifying that the shroud of Christ will soon be brought out. The deacon read the final passion gospel and then the rector brought out the holy shroud, while the faithful stood on their knees and the choir sang “The Venerable Joseph.” After the sermon, Fr. Serge confessed each parishioner on the shroud of Christ.
In the evening, the faithful returned to St. George’s Church for the matins and burial service. In the middle of the church a unique pre-revolutionary shroud was laid out surrounded by beautiful Easter lilies. The sweet smell of myrrh and incense accompanied by antiphonal singing created an extraordinary prayerful atmosphere. During the reading of the canons, the faithful heard for the first time this year the joyous words of the Paschal kontakion, “This is the most blessed sabbath, on which Christ sleepeth, but on the third day He shall rise again.” These words proclaim to the faithful that we stand in the doorway of Christ’s Glorious Resurrection. The burial service concluded with a procession around the church and the reading of the first Gospel of the Resurrection, when the myrrh-bearing women came to the tomb and met the angel there, who proclaimed Paschal joy to them. 16 апрѣля 2009 г. - Великiй Четвертокъ
Въ Великій Четвертокъ, когда Святая Церковь вспоминаетъ Тайную Вечерю, въ Свято-Георгіевскомъ храмѣ была отслужена вечерня съ Литургіей. Въ этотъ великій день служится особая Литургія, за которой вмѣсто „Иже Херувимы“ поется „Вечери твоея тайныя днесь, Сыне Божій, причастника мя пріими.“ Во время запричастныхъ готовяться особые запасные дары, которые хранятся на престолѣ для причащенія больныхъ въ теченіи всего года. Трудно передать словами тѣ чувства благодати, которыя вѣрующіе переживали въ то время, когда всѣ присутствующіе приступали къ Святой Чашѣ. На глазахъ причастниковъ были слезы покаянія и состраданія со Спасителемъ, Который идетъ на вольную страсть и распятіе.
Вечеромъ прихожане собрались въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ на Утреню Великаго Пятка со чтеніемъ 12-ти Евангелiй. Храмъ былъ наполненъ къ началу страстей нашего Спасителя. Великій постъ въ теченіи сорока дней готовитъ насъ къ Страстной седмицѣ, чтобы мы смогли покорить свои страсти и пережить эти святые дни со Христомъ. Въ своей проповѣди, настоятель призвалъ вѣрующихъ къ истиному покаянію и напомнилъ всѣмъ присутствующимъ, что Христосъ принимаетъ наше покаяніе даже въ одинадцатомъ часѣ, какъ и было съ благоразумнымъ разбойникомъ. April 16, 2009 - Great Thursday
On Great Thursday, when the Сhurch remembers the Last Supper, the Vespers service and Divine Liturgy were served in St. George’s Church. On this great day, a special liturgy is served, during which instead of the Cherubic hymn, we sing “Of Thy mystical supper O Son of God receive me today as a communicant.” During the communion of the clergy, special gifts were prepared that will be stored on the holy altar table for the communion of the sick throughout the year. It is difficult to put into words the feeling of grace which the faithful experienced while coming up to the Holy Chalice to receive the Body and Blood of Christ. The eyes of the communicants were filled with tears of repentance and co-suffering with Christ, who is now going to his willful suffering and death.
At night, parishioners gathered in St. Nicholas Church for the matins service of Great Friday along with the Twelve Passion Gospels. The church was filled with faithful for the beginning of Christ’s passions. During the course of forty days, Great Lent prepares us for Passion Week so that we can conquer our passions and co-suffer with Christ. In his sermon, Fr. Serge called the faithful to true repentance and reminded them that Christ accepts our penitence even in the eleventh hour, as he did with the good thief. After the sermon, the faithful venerated the cross of Christ in complete silence and then returned home glorifying God and his life-saving passions. Click here for photographs from the service. Во вторникъ 14го апрѣля, вышелъ первый номеръ ежемесячнаго изданiя - „Приходской Вѣстникъ.“ Главная цѣль сего изданiя объяденить нашъ приходъ и предоставить прихожаномъ возможность познакомиться со всѣми видами приходской жизни. Въ первомъ номерѣ „Приходского Вѣстника“ (стр. 24), много разныхъ отделовъ, включая церковный совѣтъ, расписанiе богослуженiй, предстоящiя событiя, издательство, сестричество, объявленiи, приходская жизнь, и т.д. Копiю вѣстника можно прiобрести у свѣчного ящика въ Св. Николаевскомъ или Св. Георгiевскомъ храмахъ.

The purpose of this monthly publication is to unite our parish and give parishioners an opportunity to better familiarize themselves with all factions of parish life. The first volume of the Parish Newsletter contains many different sections such as the parish council, schedule of services, upcoming events, publishing house, sisterhood, announcements and parish life. A free copy is available at the candle counter in St. Nicholas and St. George's Churches.

12 апрѣля, 2009 г. - Вербное Воскресенье
Въ субботу 11го и воскресенье 12го апрѣля, въ Краснобреговѣ торжественно праздновали двунадесятый праздникъ Входа Господня во Iерусалимъ (Вербное Воскресенье). Какъ и въ стихирѣ, такъ и въ храмѣ - благодать Святого Духа собрала насъ и всѣ пѣли „благословенъ грядый во имя Господне, осанна въ вышнихъ“. Во время всенощнаго бдѣнiя настоятель освятилъ вербы и затѣмъ обратился къ вѣрующимъ со словомъ о важности покаянiя. О. Сергiй объяснилъ, что безь покаяннаго плача, наша душа высохнетъ, какъ и вербы. Онъ призвалъ богомольцевъ отложить все земное попеченiе и сосредоточиться на предстоящiя страсти Господни. Въ воскресенье 12го апрѣля, прихожане вернулись въ Св. April 12, 2009 - Palm Sunday
On Saturday, April 11th, and Sunday, April 12th, the great feastday of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday) was celebrated in Red Bank. Just as is written in the stichera, the Grace of the Holy Spirit gathered us all together, and all sang "Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of the Lord - Hosanna in the Highest!" During the All-Night Vigil, the rector blessed the palms and pussy willows, after which he appealed to the faithful with a sermon regarding the importance of repentance. Fr. Serge explained that, without tears of repentance, our souls will dry and wither, as the palm fronds. He called upon the faithful to set aside all of their earthly worries and focus on the upcoming passions of Christ. On Sunday, April 12, parishioners returned to St. Nicholas Church for the festive liturgy. 7 апрѣля 2009 г. - Благовѣщенiя Пресвятой Богородицы
Въ понедѣльникъ 6го апрѣля и во вторникъ 7го апрѣля, прихожане собрались въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ, чтобы помолиться въ двунадесятый праздникъ Благовѣщенiя Пресвятой Богородицы. Въ сей радостный день, Мать-Церковъ празднуетъ начало спасенiя рода человѣческаго, когда Архангелъ Гаврiилъ благовѣстилъ Дѣвѣ Марiи, что Она родитъ Сына, который спасетъ все человѣчество. Въ этомъ году чувствовалась особая радость, потому что праздники Похвалы и Благовѣщенiя совпали почти вмѣстѣ. Прошло шесть богослуженiй передъ дивнымъ образомъ Божiей Матери въ Ея иконѣ „акаѳистъ“. Царица небесная была окружена цвѣтами и одѣта въ ризахъ „невѣсты неневѣстной“. Праздничныя службы прошли въ торжественномъ и благоговѣйномъ духѣ, на радость всѣмъ присутствующимъ. Въ концѣ Всенощнаго Бдѣнiя, настоятель отслужилъ чинъ совершенiя оглашенныхъ двумъ молодымъ людямъ, р.Б. Iоанну и р.Б. Елизаветѣ. Привѣтствуя ихъ въ Православную Церковь, о. Сергiй отмѣтилъ какой чудный день для первой степени крещенiя, потому что именно въ этотъ день, Православный мiръ празднуетъ „спасенiя нашего главизна.“ Въ праздникъ Благовѣщенiя былъ замученъ Святитель Патрiархъ Тихонъ и по окончанiи Литургiи всѣ пропѣли величанiе. За Литургiей молились о здравiи Святѣйшаго Патрiарха Кvрилла, по случаю 40-лѣтiя священнослуженiя Его Святѣйшества. April 7, 2009 - Annunciation of the Most-Holy Theotokos
On Monday, April 6th, and Tuesday, April 7th, the great feastday of the Annunciation of the Most-Holy Theotokos, parishioners gathered at St. George's Church to pray. On this joyous day, our Mother Church celebrates the beginning of the salvation of mankind, when the Archangel Gabriel came to the Virgin Mary, telling her that she would bear a Son who would save all of humanity. This year, a special joy was palpable, because the feasts of the Laudation of the Mother of God and the Annunciation fell so closely together. Six services were served in all, before the wondrous icon of the Mother of God in her icon "Akathist." The Queen of Heaven was adorned with flowers, and clothed in the veils of the "Bride Unwedded." The festive services transpired in a triumphant and reverential spirit, to the joy of all in attendance. At the end of the All-Night Vigil, the rector served The Office of Receiving Those Coming to the Orthodox Church (Initiation of the Catechumens) for two young people, the servants of God John and Elizabeth. Welcoming them to the Orthodox Church, Fr. Serge noted that this was truly a wonderful day it was to undertake the first step to Baptism, because on this day specifically, the Orthodox Church celebrates "the Fountainhead of Our Salvation." On the feast Annuncation, Saint Patriarch Tikhon was martyred and therefore the magnificat was sung to him upon completion of the Divine Liturgy. At the Divine Liturgy, the faithful also prayed for the health of His Holiness, Patriarch Kyrill, on the occasion of his 40th anniversary of service as a clergyman. At the end of the service, the deacon proclaimed "Many Years" to Patriarch Kyrill and to Fr. Serge on the occasion of his birthday. For pictures, click here. Въ воскресенье 5го апрѣля въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ былъ отслуженъ въ первые на англiйскомъ языкѣ, акаѳистъ иконѣ Божiей Матери „Азъ есмъ съ вами и никтоже на вы.“ Въ данный моментъ сей акаѳистъ готовиться къ изданiю на двухъ языкахъ Издательствомъ Преп. Сергiя Радонежскаго. Послѣ акаѳиста состоялась Литургiя Свят. Василiя Великаго. По окончанiи Литургiи пропѣли Вѣчную Память приснопамятному Архiеп. Никону по случаю дня ангела покойнаго нашего аввы. Въ 16:00 богомольцы собрались въ Краснобреговѣ для совершенiя чина Соборованiя съ участiемъ духовенства и вѣрующихъ изъ разныхъ приходовъ Нью-Iорка и сего штата. Настоятелю сослужили Прот. April 6, 2009 - Rite of Holy Unction
On Sunday, April 5, for the first time, the akathist to the icon of the Mother of God "I am with you and no one shall be against you" was sung in English at St. George's Church. The akathist is currently being prepared for publication by St. Sergius Publishing House. After the akathist, the Liturgy of St. Basil the Great was served. Upon completion of the Liturgy, Memory Eternal was sung for Archbishop Nikon of blessed memory on the occasion of his namesday. At 4:00PM, the faithful gathered at St. Nicholas Church in Red Bank for the rite of Holy Unction, alongside clergy and laypeople from New York and around our state. Co-serving with the rector were Archpriest Alexander Golubov, Archpriest Seraphim Gan, Priest Nicholas Manduke, Priest Leonid Goferman, Priest Alexander Anchoutin, Priest Vadim Arefiev, and Deacon Leonid Roschko. Въ пятницу 3го апрѣля была отслужена Преждеосвященная Литургiя въ Свято-Николаевскомъ храмѣ. Во время пѣнiя стихиръ „Совѣтъ Превѣчный“ мужскимъ хоромъ, въ сердцахъ вѣрующихъ возсiялъ первый лучъ Пасхальнаго свѣта, вѣдь праздникъ Похвала Пресвятой Богородицы возвѣщаетъ намъ, что осталось только двѣ недѣли до Свѣтлаго Христова Воскресенiя. Вечеромъ, богомольцы собрались въ Свято-Георгiевскомъ храмѣ, гдѣ въ серединѣ храма была приготовлена на большомъ аналоѣ особая икона Божiей Матери „акаѳистъ.“ На этой дивной иконѣ написаны изоброженiя всѣхъ икосовъ акаѳиста Пресвятой Богородицѣ. Утреня съ акаѳистомъ которая была отслужена на славянскомъ и англiйскомъ языкахъ прошла весьма молитвенно и благообразно. Настоятель обратился къ вѣрующимъ съ назидательнымъ словомъ о важности почитанiя Божiей Матери черезъ пѣнiя акаѳиста. April 4, 2009 - Laudation of the Mother of God
On Friday, April 3, the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts was served in St. Nicholas Church. During the singing of the stichera "Eternal Counsel" by the male choir, the hearts of the faithful were illumined by the first rays of Paschal light, for the feast of the Laudation of the Mother of God reminds us that only two weeks remain until the great feast of Christ's Glorious Resurrection. That evening, worshippers gathered in St. George's Church where, in the middle of the church, a large lectern was prepared with a special icon of the Mother of God "Akathist." This wondrous icon is decorated with the texts of the ikoses of the akathist to the Most Holy Virgin. The Matins and akathist, which were served in Slavonic and English, proceeded prayerfully and in a venerable atmosphere. The rector then made appeal to the faithful with a didactic word on the importance of honoring the Mother of God through the singing of the akathist.
